Hi everyone,
Just completed W5R2.... looked ahead to Wednesday’s run.... now feeling very nervous! Does anyone have any top tips on getting through this run? Other than taking it slow and steady? X

Hydrate plenty the day before as that’ll help prevent tired legs and stitches. Good luck!
Best advice is to read the pinned FAQ post all about W5r3. 82,000 members of this site have asked the same question (and then managed the run).
Correction, 82,719 members have asked the same question and as you say have ran run 3 of week 5, just a little advice to Hufflepuffandproud and any other people doing C25K, it is advisable NOT to look ahead, on the day of your run, take the app with you and listen to the instructions of your coach.
We have that run tomorrow and i’m feeling excited
Always stay positive you know you can do it, look how far you have come already and that feeling of being proud after w5r3 is great!! 😁😁you can do this!
You might be surprised and it will be a breeze, go at your pace and get some good music going 😎 Good Luck
Did this one last week. Found the first 5 minutes the toughest mentally, but just keep running despite the voices in your head that tell you that you can’t do it, and I was amazed how achievable the rest of the run was. Keep trusting that loads of other people have managed it and you will too. Good luck!
I loved this run because it was a real turning point in the programme. It wasn't as hard physically as mentally. The programme has prepared your body to be able to do this - now you just need to convince your brain. Try not to focus on how long you've run for or how long you have left. Focus on keeping your breathing at a level where you could speak complete sentences. And try to enjoy it! Most people got to this point doubting their ability to run W5R3 but I've never seen one person who didn't conquer it eventually.
I just think about a bloody good reason not to stop- my 13 year old niece was treated for leukaemia for 3 years and was tough as hell if she could manage that I can keep running without stopping for that short time
I was where you are now, only 4 short weeks ago. I had convinced myself that that would be the run I failed to manage - how is it possible to go from 8 mins to 20 mins? Well, it is! I got some great advice from people on here too. One that I particularly liked, was to run one way for 5 mins, then run back. Now you're half way. Change direction once more and run for 5 mins, then run back. Now you're done! I didn't actually follow that run, I just kept going straight for 10 mins, but it really helped me to break it down into manageable chunks mentally. You can do it, and you will love the feeling of having achieved. All the best!
This was my favourite run. This was the run that made me feel like a runner. I was so exited to run without stopping after all the point in the plan is to run 30 mins without stopping so to run 20 made me feel like I'd achieved something. I made a playlist of my favourite running songs that lasted the 20mins, I feel this helped beat the mental drain x
You’ll be surprised and delighted I have no doubt! First 5 (as always) seems ages but then settle, find your pace, focus on music/audiobook and you will honestly enjoy not having to stop and start again! It’s a great feeling and you can/will do it 👍 Let us all know!
You can do it!!!!! I never thought I’d be able to run for longer than 5 mins but I did 5k race for life at the weekend and ran it all! On week 7 so felt really good! Just slow.down and breathe! It’s not a race so just keep on running!
Slow and steady - did last week and more straight forward then the thought of it !
Hi, I completed it 2 days ago - still can't stop smiling as it feels like such an achievement. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other, stop your head from taking over - I too was a little anxious and didn't think I could do it - choose your best music and run, Forest, run. Good luck, you've got this
