Haha! You really know you are getting to be a committed runner when you contact the holiday park you are staying at for a dancing weekender at the end of the month and ask if their gym and pool are open.
And in answer to your question, yes they are and yes I will be running and swimming over the weekend. Too ruddy cold to go for a wild sea swim mind - even with my wetsuit on

Holiday running is the most wonderful way of exploring the local area. Are you just going to the gym or will you venture out and about? I would definitely advise the latter. I have had some of my best running adventures on holiday- being chased by cows, listening to horror stories whilst running through a scary forest , falling over in a river, running through the sea- and these are the things that memories are made of! Enjoy yourself ππππ±
Too new a runner to venture outdoors, especially at the end of October with dodgy lungs, so gym only. It will only be the one run as I'm just away for the weekend and it will all depend on how much fuel I have left in the tank after three nights of jiving. Recharging the batteries takes longer at 62 πππ
No, you are not too new to running to do the natural thing! Have belief in yourself π an have adventures. You are obviously a dancer so embrace running too. I am also venturing into my 60's and consequently need more adventures than everππππ
I do believe in myself, but not in my damaged lungs (30+ years of fags did me not favours!), the 2 stone+ more fat than I should be carrying on my wee frame, and far from "used to it" legs.
I'm only just 17 weeks into the programme and can't even run 5k in 30 minutes yet! I don't want to risk injury to my body or my fragile confidence, so the mill remains for now - and I'm really happy and confortable there to be honest with little to no urge to venture outside for the momentπππ
Iβm on my hols myself at the moment, and have had some lovely runs alongside the beach and out to a jetty with a little lighthouse at the end. Itβs just lovely to be somewhere different! Have a great time π.
You're well trained and running has become part of your life - nothing wrong with that! Mind you, all that jiving you intend to do will clock up a good few miles too, maybe a PB in rocking and rolling!Have a great time and let us know how it goes, I'm probably not the only one on here who has thought about doing exactly what you're going to do!
