this forum is wonderful, so glad I found it!
Have you started already? Feel free to post your runs, even if you're not asking a question, it's good to know how they're going and it helps others sometimes too.
Do up your water - between 2 and 3 litres a day. You'll be amazed at the difference it makes.
There is lots of information in the FAQ post in the pinned post, well worth reading.
Welcome to the wonderful world of running. I am 52 and started running a couple of years ago to help me with my mental health, I had work based stress and depression with a little bit of anxiety thrown in for good measure.
I moved last October and hadn’t got back into running again. I dusted off my kit and thought I need to do this as I was overweight, I still am but have lost half a stone since I restarted the programme.
Slow and steady and stretches and keep yourself hydrated. I do hope you get to enjoy running. This is a brilliant forum for tips, advice and just letting people know of your running experience. Happy running 🏃♀️
At the wrong side of 59, I started c25k seven weeks ago. My next run tonight. My goal, a half marathon next March! Go for it.
Well done Millie you can do it
Cheers ... W7R1 today 👍
Hi, I'm also 54. I'm post-menopausal and have struggled with aches and pains, tiredness, lack of motivation: list is endless! I'm on my 3rd "run" of week one and this morning I thought "should I really be doing this at 54". I was really struggling. I've never been a runner, even at school, but I really want to give this a go. Wish there weren't so many hills where I live though! I want to get fitter and have noticed even after my 3 attempts of walking/running I feel my mood has lifted considerably.
Your dog is so cute by the way.
Keep at it your sense of achievement wellbeing and motivation will increase after every run ... I joined this group late at W6 or would have been posting all the time .. post away you will always get the push you need to go on the dog is not mine ... I just love the bones of her .. I’m her Auntie P
