W2R3 tomorrow

and I’m so impatient! If it wasn’t for my dodgy knee, I’d be rushing ahead and going through faster. So you never know, I might actually finally have something to thank my knee for 🤣

I also now have a seriously long Running wish list on Amazon...

I'm doing W2R1 this morning after school run and actually found on run 1 this week that going slower is so much easier! I think I was pushing too hard last week. Slow and steady, and as I read on here the brisk walk should be faster than the run!

Yes, that’s me too! 🐢 (only not as cute as the tortoise emoji! 🤣) I’m not actually doing the Japanese slow running thing, but it’s pretty close!

Enjoy your run!

My brisk walk IS faster than my run, but it gets me to the finish of the longer runs now I'm onto 25 mins. I'll worry about speed... another time (or not)

Yes, speed of running is not a priority for me 😊 As long as I get it done! The temptation for me would be to skip to week three before I’ve finished week two 😉 but I’m being sensible because of my historically dodgy knee 😇

I was tempted to skip ahead right at the start, instead I skipped the odd 'rest day' - mostly because my easiest days to fit it in are Thurs-Sun. After I finished week 5 I decided to start doing rest days properly. It feels like it's wasting some of the days I could use, but there's so much benefit in actually finishing and having the sense of accomplishment (and not hurting your knee more) that just do the plan and don't worry about speed or timing. You'll still be onto the 10min+ runs before you even know it.

Thank you, that’s useful reinforcement 👍🏻

I’m just about to finish W4 and would say don’t be impatient, just go with the programme and you’ll increase speed and endurance as you go along, I’ve just got on to Strava and Nike Running Club both of which bomb you with stats and it’s great to see the actual evidence of improvement.

I will be good and follow the programme 😇

I’d expected the C25k app to track distance so I was a bit disappointed it didn’t. Maybe Strava would be good - though as I think my running is slower than my brisk walk, I’ll probably go less far each week! 🤣
