What changes in your body(and mind) have you noticed?

So I am on W3. Already I am seeing changes in my body and how I feel. My thighs are firmer (I love that), and strangely enough my waist and stomach feel firmer (sadly can't do much about the loose skin from two children 26 years ago!). I have stopped taking Amitripyline which is great, but my sleep pattern is now messed up. And I am walking many miles and steps more per day than I have ever done. And I have lost the last few pounds which had stubbornly refused to shift.

I am have less money in my bank account 🤯😂

What changes has everyone else noticed?

Great changes so soon! (Other than the sleep patterns - hope this isn’t too bad?)

I’ve only just finished week one but already feel more positive! And my bank balance is not liking the look of my internet browsing history... 😆

I am coping with the sleep. The tablets always helped me sleep, but I have wanted to come off them for ages. And yes, Ebay is so bad (good?😂).

Good! 😈 as long as I don’t click “buy”...

Hopefully your sleep patterns will settle down 🤞🏻

Having taken many months to finish C25k (for a few reasons), my noticeable body changes are definitely legs are much stronger and I can even feel my core muscles! Oh and my biceps. Yay, those bingo wings can take a run and jump😬.

Mentally - I love running and it’s benefits it is so addictive. For me I am often stressed that I’ll get an injury stopping me from my addiction

I know what you mean. I am 55 this year and wish I had done this years ago. And then I am thinking, what if I have an injury or life gets in the way 😱 I guess we have to keep enjoying it and take whatever life deals us. Why do you reckon your arms have improved? I would like to know the science behind it.

I’m 59 so beating you! I’m entered for the Great North Run (expect to walk most of it) but really want to keep the old joints safe, hence the worry. When running I must be using my arms without realising. Recently started wearing an arm band to hold phone and noticed it more. It’s like getting blood pressure taken 😂. I might have to scrap the thing cos if my massive biceps (only joking!)

Lol. I have my phone in a belt and I have wireless headphones. It must be all that punching the air every time you complete something! Well done 💕

I’m running 2 years now since finishing C25K. In the past 6 months along with the running and a healthy diet I have lost 2.5 stone and as a result I am finishing a 5K run 6 minutes faster than I was last year. I love running and have also made many new friends through Parkrun and running groups.

Top Tip to new runners. Save the bank balance. Don’t go crazy buying too many T-Shirts, over the past couple of years I have built up a good T-Shirt collection from entering into 5K road races. It’s cheaper than buying a T-Shirt online or in a shop and you also get a race out of it.

Sounds like you have made real progress! Well done. And my main expenditure has been my new running shoes! £120! 😳🏃‍♀️

That’s a very wise investment. Running shoes are the most important and should last for 800 to 1000 kilometres of running.
