Still going! After a bit of a setback

A bout of diverticulitis knocked me for six and I had two weeks of not running so I was a bit apprehensive approaching run 1 of week 3. Had I lost fitness? Should I repeat week 2? But I reminded myself that I have been running quite consistently for a while now. I'm repeating couch to 5 k after a wobbly summer but surely there should be some residual fitness in there somewhere! I decided I'd give it a go. I could always walk if I really needed to. And it was fine! It is always fine!! Note to self: trust the programme!! The programme is always right! I was a bit more aware of breathing than usual in the 3 minute runs but it was OK. Now I'm home, ready for lunch and feeling very pleased I got out there!

🍏🤗👏🌟 You are a superstar & prove that a lot of the difficulties with running is in our thoughts. Well done … self talk is often the best motivator.. even the tennis Champs, nip off to the bathroom to give themselves a talking to.. why shouldn’t we! Hope you stay well over Christmas & have no further setbacks. Xx

Thank you Annie! It is one of the advantages of having run for a while that I have a bit more faith in myself!
