Looking at the weather forecast, we may experience some rain (some may be heavy ๐Ÿ˜ณ). What do you wear? I also wear glasses and hate them getting raindrops on.

Trail Head running cap..cool and a big brim ..I wear glasses. no raindrops :) I have a lightweight breathable showerproof Ron Hill jacket. I wear it only if it is raining heavily before I set out..if it rains when I am out...I just get wet:)

I wear the local distillery baseball cap (no rain on MY specs! ๐Ÿ˜), and I have a very light Karrimor running jacket in fluorescent yellow.

Thank you. I have a Northface lightweight jacket, but it is lined so may be too hot!

A running cap over my glasses works very well. Also I have a very light breathable rainproof jacket. It happens to be a cycling jacket, so that means extra long sleeves (great in winter- no need for gloves) & longer at the back - dry backside! I just wear different layers under it at different times of year. I have discovered that as long as my torso & upper arms are dry- ish that I love running in the rain. ๐Ÿ˜„

A dry butt has a lot to be said for it ๐Ÿ˜‚ what make is your jacket? I have never worn a ๐Ÿงข!

Yes I have never worn a baseball hat before and feel fairly stupid in it, but it does the anti raindrop job well. ๐Ÿ˜€

My jacket make is Marmot - it has a super thin fleece lining & breathable, waterproof shell. It was a present many years ago, (over 12 years) and is still fab - so much so that recently I paid to have a new zip put into it when the old one collapsed ( not complaining after all those years). ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Short sleeved top...standard running shorts...might throw on my trail runners if I'm heading off road. The rain this time of year is warm ๐Ÿ˜Ž specs I just give the rain a shake off or a wipe on my sleeves...

Not quite so brave in the winter months tho ๐Ÿคช

What are trail runners? Shoes? Yes summer rain shouldn't be too cold should it?

Windoze profile image
WindozeGraduateโ€ข in reply toangie31964

Yeah Trail running shoes. More grip and some can be water proof. Not designed for running on tarmac really.

No the rain this time of year is lovely to run in....

Bit of advice given to me from chap at my running club "always dress for the second half of the run".

Going out for a 10k-20k in the rain loaded with waterproof gear your gonna get hot hot hot ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿคฃ

Yes I did think that. Trouble is, the first ten can be chilly lol!

Ew, because I like to wear contacts when I run I get a bit twitchy about heavy rain.

Bought a good waterproof running cap with a wide brim.

Iโ€™m just about to re waterproof a very old flyweight waterproof wore years ago. But itโ€™s breathable and zipped under arms so itโ€™s getting a new lease of life.

Hope you get sorted ๐Ÿ‘

I wear as little as possible so that I dry off quickly if/when it stops. Iโ€™d wear a cap if I wore my glasses while running... my flat cap didnโ€™t work, so Iโ€™d go with a baseball cap.

I may have to look into a cap. Never had one before.

I followed Oldflossโ€™ advice and bought a trail head - itโ€™s fine. ๐Ÿ˜„

I ran in heavyish rain showers the other day for the first time. I have an ultra-light very flimsy rain jacket from Uniqlo (one of those ones that packs up into a tiny square pocket so I wore that but I think I will invest in a proper running jacket so my Uniqlo one doesnโ€™t end up sweaty! I didnโ€™t bother with a cap or anything as Iโ€™ve got very short cropped hair but could be a wise choice if you run in specs. I do wear glasses a lot but can get away without them for running. I actually quite enjoyed the rain as it was a warm day and it felt quite refreshing, but I doubt Iโ€™ll be saying the same in winter!

Yes I agree. In the winter it won't be fun. Sounds like a cycling rain jacket might be the ticket!

The only difference between hot and cold weather would be a light jacket. Otherwise there would be a long peak cap to cover my glasses (at times I'd wear lenses), top and shorts. I ran through proper downpours and got soaked to the bones when it wasn't particularly warm out there. It was very liberating, to the point of not caring if a bus splashed me all over. The only time l would consider not running would be hard winter rain bordering on sleet. That stuff can hurt you.

Wow sounds like you could be dicing with danger running in that then. Thanks.

I love running in the rain. Unless itโ€™s under 4degrees I donโ€™t wear anything extra. Canโ€™t bear overheating. Wearing a cap really helps with rain on your face ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

One specifically for running. Look on wiggle. Something like Salomon, DHB or Ronhill ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ
