Is consecutive day running really a no no?

Week 7

Hi folks, I’m still pinching myself that I can run for 25 minutes without stopping. I’ve never been a runner, even as a child I don’t think I ran places! Anyway, this morning I completed the first run of week 7. I have time tomorrow morning (while waiting for my son at football) and want to run again. Do I really need a rest day or if feeling good, should I just do it?

You really should rest from running so your muscles can heal from today's run.

However you could go for a swim (wonderful in this heat) or cycle in some shady woods if that's your thing : )

Don’t do it!! As novice runners we need the rest days to repair muscles. Sure you might be fine but every chance you’ll injure yourself either tomorrow or soon after because you’ve asked too much too soon. I know/ my app froze in week 4. I felt good so I ran on way past what I should have done. Pulled my Achilles next time and had 3 months on Injury couch. The run will wait until you’re rested.

Yes it’s a no from me! I’m no expert but have seen many posts from peeps who regret pushing it and sustain an injury that halts their progress. TTP! (Trust the program) 👍🏻🏃🏻‍♀️👍🏻

The Number one rule of C25K is not to run on consecutive days, could be on the IC (injury couch) for weeks on end.

You may feel good..but don't do it.. ever..until you have been running for at least 18 months:)

Loads of non impact work to do on rest days...but have a rest day too:)

It’s a no, correct.

Don’t do it.

I won't run conservative days. I've read too many posts here and elsewhere that 100% convince me it's a ticking time bomb at our level.

The runners who seem to get away with it usually are genetically gifted, ethave access to Coaches, Physios etc on at least Club level.

Just one "unlucky" run can sideline you for a heck of a lot longer than a day between runs so nope - not a chance I take :)

... I agree with everything already said- “rest” days are a great opportunity for another exercise- then you have at least two to relish. I alternate cycling days with running days & do a weekly Pilates class. 😄
