I am 57 and just completed this run and it still amazes me how quickly your body adapts and allows you to go from not being able to run 60 seconds in week 1 to running 28 minutes now. I have also now registered to do a 5k with my daughter Danielle to raise money for charity on the 6th July as we have gone through this programme together. Is this really me or is this someone else’s body doing this. 😊

If anyone out here is just starting week 1 and thinking they won’t get through this, you will and you can.

Thanks for posting this- I am on W2 and was just saying last night that I can’t imagine ever being able to run 5k!!

I felt exactly the same and thought I would be the one person that would fail at this, despite all the people here saying they did it.

Don't worry about the 5k thing, the plan's name should really be couch to 30 minutes but it's not as catchy as couch to 5k.

Don't worry, though, if you don't make 5k in week 9 as only about 10% of people actually do make it, it's the fact that you are running for 30 minutes.

I am now running just under 5k so hoping when I do the charity run next week that the adrenaline of all the runners together will carry me through it.

The real strange thing, and I hope you agree with me, is that you dread week 1, look at week 5 run 3 with total horror but you actually start looking forward to the runs and really miss them when you can't run.

Congrats on getting to week 8.

Yeah I miss running on my rest days now but know how important they are and never thought I would feel like this.
