I had thought of doing the c25k plan for a while so after my 60th birthday I started late last year. In the earlier weeks I did some repeat runs and weeks having missed runs due to weather, family bereavements etc. I did run 1 of week 9 this morning and have to admit at the beginning never thought I would manage 30 minutes continuous running. I was late joining the forum and wish I had done so earlier, there is so much useful information and inspiration in the posts. It's taken rather longer than nine weeks but I should finish this week. Will be back for rollout on advice once graduated.
Almost there: I had thought of doing the c25k... - Couch to 5K
Almost there
Great work. It really doesn’t matter how long this plan takes, the end result is always a fitter, healthier happier new runner who can keep going for 30 minutes. Enjoy the rest of your victory lap. You’ve now done what was impossible last year, other things that are impossible can be taken down just the same way.
After graduation, consolidate for a few weeks to make 30 minutes comfortable/easy and have a break from the relentless progression. Use that time to decide if you’d like to run longer or any other ambitions, and there should be plenty of people around who can help you on your next adventure.
Love every step of the next 2 runs... see you on that podium.
What UnfitNoMore said. Sometimes the journey is long but you still get to your destination. Happy graduation week.
Fantastic, well done you! I bet you felt brilliant afterwards - 30 minutes of non-stop running! Enjoy the rest of Week 9 and make sure you tell us about your graduation run - we're all here cheering you on.
Huge well done you..just take it gently as you cruise towards that podium
Thanks for your messages, will update after run 3.
Hats off to you, RuntoFloyd!! I am inspired!!
