Week 8 done

So, we're onto the final straight now. Today's run was tough again. I'm pretty sure the weather is not helping. Plus a head full of a rough day at work.

I'm finding the first 10 minutes the worst, with thoughts of not being able to keep running. But I do, and the middle goes past quite quickly. The last 5 was actually pretty positive, once Laura had let me know I was there.

Anyway, enough of 28 minutes, we're up to 30 now, and there's not going back... hopefully.

Here's to some nicer weather. Not too hot, but definitely sunny. And dry.

I didn't mean it like that hahaha, what I really meant was if the first 10 minutes suck, just ignore them, cos the next ones don't :D

Congrats! I’m right behind you, I’ll be starting week 9 on Monday, I still can’t believe I’m doing it, every week has surprised me and so I’m sure next week will be the same... I’m thinking of perhaps a month of 3x30 a week to up my speed/distance & then starting the bridge to 10k. Do you have any plans? Ax

Well done too!

I want to try Parkrun this Saturday for my first 30 minute. I won’t be anywhere near 5k in that time, but it’s a new experience and a new venue.

I have a charity 5.6k run in 3 weeks. I expect to break that into two shorter runs with a walk in between. So everything is building up to that, adding a little time each week.

After that, I don’t have concrete plans. I would certainly like my pace to improve, but my only real goal is health.

I’ve literally just done the registration for parkrun! it looks a nice low pressure environment, just what I need for the next phase. Good luck, Ax

Yeah, I just bought an armband as an extra incentive. Also, a friend of mine who printed their own barcode to take with them, said that pulling out a wet, sweaty piece of disintegrating paper at the end is very demoralising. 😂

As a parkrun volunteer I can vouch for that - but it’s where they get pulled out from that can be equally disconcerting.....😖

You will fix it, you will fix it! Go wk 9 Charlie!

Showing my age and still traumatised after all these years to see Bagpuss was PINK on the kids dvd. 😲 I'm so old I watched in black and white, was sure he was ginger.

The title sequence was in black and white, well actually sepia. I am, as you may have guessed, a bit of a fan.

What's your favourite episode? The willow pattern one is mine, given me a life long passion for blue and white China. My kids enjoyed him as much as we did. Oliver Postgate should have had a Knighthood 👏

Chocolate Biscuit Factory. I could probably recite the script from memory. But hey, why have favourites? There were so few episodes, I love all of them.
