Week 6 Run 1 complete

Can’t believe I managed wk5 r3! And yet I did, with Jo Whiley urging me on, and music blasting in my ears. This run though, I was thinking “come on Jo! Please tell me I only have a minute left!!” I found it quite tough. I’m managing about 3.4k in the allotted time, and find motivating myself to get up and go harder as the weeks go on - I’m wondering “Is this normal?”

That's quite a cracking pace you're running at, try slowing down to a light jog and see what a difference it makes. You can always speed up for the last bit of your run if you want to! Well done for completing the 20 minutes, that's a real milestone and will give you confidence for the next ones.

Well done! That's a Brilliant start to the day!

I seem to get a similar distance in the time to you. It has crept up a bit during week 8 but i can't see me being anywhere next 5 km in 30 mins by the end of next week!

Thanks Lindsey-joy. What will you did at the end then? Repeat final run and try to increase your speed or gradually extend your time to reach 5k?

I'm nowhere near 5k yet. I've just been concentrating on running for longer periods. My speed has increased very gradually without really trying. After i graduated i will just keep increasing my running time until i get to 5k i think.
