I need to move south!

Well, Stockport was miserable yesterday and my legs were killing me from my PT session so I stayed in bed instead of parkrun.

Turned out to be a good choice because I got this instead!

If only I had a few hundred k I'd move here in a heartbeat...

So I settled for what I thought was a very gentle 5k along Bournemouth beach, but turned out to be only 16s off my PB... weird.

Vicious rain forecast for tomorrow.... nice weights session then pub I think. Now I get to call it "carb loading" ahead of my 10k on Wed/Thu!! :)

Ooh, very nice! Good decision to hold out for running by the seaside!

Absolutely it was. :)

Wow that looks nice! There is no rhyme or reason with runs and how you feel, that’s my conclusion. Enjoy carb loading!

Is carb loading meant to make you ill the next day though?? Lol

no I think that's the carb loading of the drinking kind which I wouldnt encourage. I did have 2 GT last night to no effect today (and also low in carbs ;-)

You got there... glorious.. warmth :) Your run was great and you can have a treat after your weights... why are you carb loading??

I'm not... it's just my excuse for why I'm drinking Guinness!

Lovely 👍 if you are in sunny Bournemouth will you get chance to run in the New Forest this week? We used to go every year as a kid and I remember it as being quite beautiful.

I did think about that as I passed through on the train. Bet that would be lovely. Probably won't as I have a few things to do and want to soak up some sea air... but I'll be back. :)

Nice run and a great place to do it... 7 mile long beach isn’t it? That’s a warmup over 10k 🤣

Enjoy the carb loading... it cannot be overdone until the eve of the run. As I’m not running tomorrow I may get some in myself... cheers 🍻

Well I ran 2.5k out Eastwards today and wasn't near the end and I know the other way is 5k so, yes, 7 miles sounds about right.

Enjoy!

Carb loading AND hydration!

Anyway, you can't get protein shakes at the pub.

It's true. I've had to manage with a burger!

Thank you :)

I'd love to live next/near to the coast. That looks beautiful. Good luck with the 10k!

Thank you. :)

I'll be moving seaward at some point... sure there's a market for piano lessons at the coast. Just not yet.

What a wonderful sky Pianism . I'm going to be in Bournemouth for the first time ever on Friday and don't need to be where I'm going until midday so thought about going for a run in the morning and your photo has convinced me.

I wasn't sure what way to go along the seafront, east or west. Have you, or anybody else, got any suggestions about which way has the best scenery? I'll be doing 8ish km starting about halfway between Bournemouth Pier and Boscombe Pier.

Fantastic... it's a beautiful place to run. I don't think there's much to differentiate east or west... it's along the beach front for a long way in either direction. 8k west won't get you quite to Sandbanks unless you run past the halfway point. But you might get near Hengistbury head if you go east.

I'm staying about half way between the piers too! :)

Fingers crossed for dry weather on Friday, but it's not looking at the moment :-(

Actually, the mornings have been mostly OK. Downhill in the afternoons though. I have my fingers crossed for you.

I'll be checking out of my hotel on Friday (boo hoo!) but staying with friends in their posh house and doing Poole parkrun (yay!).
