Evening all... hills tomorrow... up and down that hill in Richmond Park I go... It might be a bit muddy though so I'll check it out in the morning...
Also - I need help - I keep entering events... this MUST stop...
I'm now in the Kew Gardens 10K on the 21 Sep, the Kingston Run 8.2mile Challenge on 12 Oct, Riverside Run 10K on 18 Oct, Hampton Court HM on 22 Feb and now seriously considering the Richmond HM on 22 Mar... I think something must be wrong with me fellow runners... I fear you will be of no help though and only encourage me...
The Kew Gardens 10K offers a shirt, a medal AND a beer at the finish - how could I turn it down?
UPDATE: I *HAVE* now entered the Richmond HM on the 22 March... Cheaper than therapy I guess!
Ha ha, its all good stuff Aussie, great to have goals and something to aim for . That's a serious addiction you have there , enjoy your hills tomorrow ! xxx
Certainly means I need to keep training and finding time for training through winter alright!
A shirt, a medal AND a beer ! Churlish to refuse really. Hope you enjoy all these runs !

Looking forward to them actually... I've done 10K already in training and in an event so that distance is one I'm comfortable with... the HM is going to be the big test! Twice the 10K distance and then some...
Haha Aussie, you do know that no one on here is going to try dissuade you from entering races, don't you? Go for it m'dear because in a few months time MrsAussie is gonna be entering them too and you're gonna be arguing about whose turn it is to look after the Aussie-ettes Happy race entering Sweetie
I know - it's already the kids taxi, Mum running, Dad running, Dad going to work timetable shuffle... we're now writing "Long Run", W2R3, etc.. on the calendar so we don't all head out at the same time and forget the kids!
Good to hear, Aus! What a fantastic collection of races! It really is terribly addictive, this racing malarkey. With that lot I'm signed-up to for next year, I daren't register for any more for 2015! That said, there's a five-mile (my favourite distance, I've discovered) Easter dash in Bridlington I might sign-up to for next year.
I'm still giving huge consideration to doing the Putney and Fulham Riverside HM this October too. I really fancy that one.
Good luck with the hills tomorrow, mate; hope they go well!
Ha! You just signed up for them all in one go mate!
I'll let you know how I get on with those hills... I ran up some stairs today (just at the shopping centre - nothing exciting) and thought "hmmm... that could be fun..."... your fault..
This running thing should come with a warning!! Beware it will change your life so all you think about is running - weather - this is a good day for a run, clothes shopping becomes running clothes, gadgets are gamins and new places visited are now assessed if they will make a nice running location and weekends revolve around getting your run done first or racing!
Shirt, medal and beer would be rude not to! You seem to have a really problem here my kind sir! When are you going to have chance to work? Between training, competing in event and supporting Mrs Aussie!
Sounds like you have it all under control
Good luck with your running tomorrow hills and all
I'm an early morning runner so work starts post-run during the week and most of those sessions are 30-40 minutes... the long runs are weekend runs so hopefully it'll all come together... As someone told me the other day, if you've got time to update Facebook, you've got time to run...
Great fun though, between kids swimming, dancing and gymnastics and Mrs Aussie doing C25K we've gone for a whole family on the couch to a bunch of people competing over what times we can do our various bits of exercise...
It is a pity I'm back at work on the 8 Sep though - the National Lottery hasn't come through yet!
I like that "if you have time to update Facebook you have time for a run"
It is great that you have the whole family involved. I have it easy as my daughters are older so out at work or with friends! My OH is the one who found my the C25K, although he never used it. He is very supportive, although runs faster and longer than me! Having others to share it with has been a great help.
You really do need help aussiegtc. That's an awful lot of work to do for a beer. Oh I forget you get a shirt too! And a medal? Well why didn't you say so? Go for it!
Haha, That's brilliant! I know that when I am injury-free, I will be the same. It IS addictive. I quite fancied doing the Run to the Beat at Wembley, in September, but I won't be running anywhere until this bloody injury sorts itself out. I love your enthusiasm Aussie, it is just what I need right now
Aussie (and any other silverware obsessed landlubbers), my crew on the Black Pig and I are considering hosting a challenge run for 2015 in the shark infested waters of the Spanish Main. Interested? Entry fee will be 100 doubloons (or equivalent in jewels) and the course will be15 times around the poop deck and once along the plank, all at knife point... We will also promise all participants a medal but hey, we're pirates so that is a promise unlikely to fulfilled.
