Looking to graduate 2nd time round.

I will have to learn just as much as I did the first time round and hopefully more.

Just completed first two runs W/F and will do wk 1.3 tomorrow Monday with our C25k Penrhos Streakers.

Been on the IC since 23/01/19 and just trying to recover from ankle injury and a resulting stiff hip.

I thought I had sorted out this grumbling ankle, but it has protested again after Friday C25k Wk 1.2 followed by 4 sprint intervals and a little hill.

Lesson learned.πŸ™ˆ Just got to be more patient and get maximum benefit from my repair days. Stick with the programme and I certainly do trust it.

So back onto the physio’s exercise recommendations for both ankle and hip and keep in good shape for each run.

I think it’s going to be a while before I return to anything like my previous routine.

Anyone seen the running gods around.πŸ€” I think they must be on holiday.

Atb to all doing C25k with your journeys.

Sorry to hear this is ongoing Tbae. Hope you are fully run fit soon.

Sprint intervals can be very hard on the legs so maybe a good idea to leave those out a while longer yet. Similar with any hill intervals.

Sounds like your little group is going well.πŸ‘πŸΌ

Thanks Millsie and hope all OK with you.

Thanks for your advice and good wishes, much appreciated.

Yes the little group are very keen to give themselves the gift of running.

I cannot believe how enjoyable doing C25k in this little sub group is.Definately helping me as does HealthUnlocked and C25k the magic forum.

I think I am beginning to get my head round the need for patience and what is required for my return journey to sustainable trotting.

Certainly hanging up the running shoes will never be an option.

I know exactly what you mean! It's the knowing that you have done it before that is the problem!

I too am a returning graduate having been out for over a year with a knee injury.

Just started week 3 today - fingers crossed we both managed to graduate again with no further injury!

I think the key is sticking with and trusting the program as you do. And using the repair days to rest. I felt almost devastated when I couldn’t run and doubted it would ever be pain free. But going slowly and persevering, I can now honestly say I’m running without any discomfort from the injured ankle.

Keep your mood up!
