Getting to week 1

Hi Have just started running at 58 with son (15). Found I couldn't do a minute (very overweight), so started with 6 x 50 (little) paces. Now at wk 3 of my pre-C25k! 2 wks of 6 x 50 paces, and one of 6 x 100 paces! Figure next week's 150 paces will be around a minute - so I'm really getting there! Son lopes off into distance, and then overtakes me on the way back, but not worried. It's great to read all the success stories on here!

Well done for starting 😃👍🏃‍♀️

I was 57 when I started. Best thing I ever did

I was overweight and unhealthy, unfit, etc but turned things round So can you

Good luck and have fun. No hurry at all so take your time 😃

This is where I'm at - run a little, recover, do it all again ... on a good day I can run 200 steps at once but more often 150 is my limit. It's a start - and as misswobble says - often starting is the most important thing. Well done on these important first steps - I'm sure it won't be long before you'll have to change your username on here ... 😉 Good luck! x

Well done you on getting started! Take a look at the Japanese Slow Running clip on YouTube- it might help you with your stamina. I swear by it (and at it some days, but there you go!) and as a larger lady of some years standing I really find it’s do-able for me.

I am 55 and have decided that Japanese slow running may be my sport! It’s doing it that counts- happy running whatever the speed!

Well done Pre-C25 ,for making the commitment and the effort to acheive your goal ! I admire your the way you personalized the routine and applied the C25K principal to your needs and current ability as a runner !! No matter how far we have progressed on our personal journeys as runners , we all run one step at a time , no more, no less - you are doing just fine !!

Keep on running .

Thanks all! I can't wait till the next run on Sunday! It's such a great sport - no age limit. To think this could be the start and I could still be running years from now, feels great!
