I am having to replace the strap on my Garmin 35 after little more than a year. Any thoughts anyone?

I'm talking about the watches that you wear all the time, not the ones you put on just for running

Hi CG2, I have to replace the strap on my 235 about every year. The 'keeper' on the strap ends up breaking, and it generally has been quicker/easier to simply replace the whole strap. Last time it went I bought a new strap, and also ordered 5 keepers from a Chinese website on 2-3 months delivery. So I should be good for the next 5 years.

It is slightly annoying to have to change the strap so frequently, but I suppose that is the nature of the material that it is made from. And the strap does get a bit grubby from 24 hour wear, so an annual change is not the end of the world.

Thanks Marky, yes the "keeper" went a couple of months ago, now the bit between the holes have gone, giving me just one big hole. Just seems a bit expensive at around a fiver.

Check out Amazon or eBay . You will have a fantastic choice of colours for straps for your Garmin Forerunner 35. Some sets also have the tool needed with the straps.

Yep, I've ordered one from Amazon, I just want a black one to match the watch itself. The straps that obviously came with the tools came from China, and would have taken around 8 weeks to get here, so I've ordered one from UK that will be here next week. It wasn't clear if the tool was included, if not I'm a bit stuffed aren't I?

Let me know if you don’t get the little ‘star’ Allen key. I probably have a couple that I can send you from the many straps I’ve bought.

Thank you for your kind offer MarkyD my new strap arrived today and has two different Allen keys, so I won't need yours, but thanks for the offer.

Have a look on eBay, I always get my fitbit straps from eBay.

Do you think it's reasonable for a strap to need replacing after a year?

If you’re wearing it all time then yes! Xx

Yes, I do wear it all the time, and I tend to fiddle with it too. It feels too tight and makes my wrist swell, so I loosen it, then guess what? Too loose so I tighten it again...The new one arrived today.
