Just finished the 3rd run on my first week and it feels great! I’m no runner but I did it! I am slightly nervous for the 2nd week. I need to have more control on my breathing. Does anyone have any tips?

Well done, the hardest part is starting and you already did that.

To be honest I don't even think about my breathing, I just breathe, I do what comes naturally. I know there's probably a better way of doing it but at the moment I am too busy just making sure the rest of my body is behaving.

Maybe I am thinking about it too much! I have asthma but I haven’t had to use my inhaler just yet. I have been deep breathing during the walking intervals. Hopefully it will lungs will get better with time haha!

I have seasonal asthma. My lung capacity has improved with this programme. I also find that having a good cough or two (even if I have to force a cough) gets any old air out and helps me open them up so I can feel the air go "all the way in" (if you know what I mean).

Take it slow and steady, and don’t worry too much about your breathing. As you go on you’ll find your own rhythm and stop thinking about it, just as you do the rest of the time. If you think you’re running out of breath, just slow down a little more. Enjoy !

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on pacing and breathing and I recommend that you follow the link to the post about mental approach in the guide.........there is nothing to be nervous about.

Enjoy your journey.
