Well I never; gait analysis done and not neutral like I always thought. Bought new stability shoes and tested them out twice now (2x30 min). Shin pain gone, no hot knee joints or numbness/tingling in right hand and foot so hoping that was the issue. I am delighted. Thank you fellow VRBs for the sage advice ๐๐ผ๐๐

Gait analysis and New shoes
Fantastic Dottie_D - sounds good Think I should have that done sooner rather than later. I wear a support shoe but did the paper test rather than gait analysis a year or two ago.
Happy running ๐โโ๏ธ
Great and glad your new shoes are doing the job ๐
That's good news. I need to get this done. I got some new shoes around week 3 and started with a bit of pain under my left bum cheek. It eased off over the follow week with stretches and I don't have it now, thankfully but I still think the analysis is worth doing.
Iโm so glad I did. Needed new shoes anyway so it was win win. I went to proper running shop (up & running) for gait analysis. It was eye opening watching my running video frame by frame to see how my foot/ankle dropped inwards after a very straight mid foot landing lol. And it was a free service without obligation to buy. ๐
Dottie_D! I am a little disappointed.โน Have you learned nothing from this forum? ๐ค๐คจ
Where's the shoe porn picture??? ๐
Glad the aches and pains have been resolved ๐๐
Lol ๐I donโt know how to attach a photo here. I was surprised that my new shoes are a whole size larger than I would previously buy. They felt like boats on and I thought Iโd trip up first outing, but they were fine. ๐๐ผ๐
Pretty in purple ๐. I live them and am pleased for you that they are helping with your niggles
Not a colour I would have chosen normally but they were the ones that โfitted like a gloveโ. I donโt have any running wear in similar colours, good job Iโm not that vain, as I canโt afford new clothes too ๐๐
You did well that you bought those expensive shoes. I know they are of a high end. If you need supporting shoes, and it seems you do, you can't get away with cheap shoes. They will serve for a few hundred miles. While you can wait with the decent gear, I would suggest that you invest in running socks, at least one pair. They do make a difference. I realized it on my last run when I was wearing ordinary think socks as I did not want to bother with changing and didn't want to make the running socks dirty. You can get a pair for 4-8 pounds.
Thanks, I did buy one pair of running socks with the shoes but they are quite thick so havenโt tried them yet. Maybe tomorrow ๐๐
I have not really felt the difference immediately. Yet, I always used them when I could (i. e. unless dirty). (My alternative is the walking socks.)
But when I went back to the ordinary socks I said 'wow, it does make a difference!'.
Seen these Paradox shoes in the shop yesterday but I bought New Balance as I find them a wider fit.
I am so glad that you found your dream shoes
I know itโs not about the look but what a pretty colour Dottie! You chose well ๐
Are they a slightly bigger size too? Iโve had numb foot whilst running, turns out my foot was swelling with heat and the shoe became tight ๐
Fantastic news! Isn't it amazing that running shoes can make so much difference to our experience, when previously (at least to me anyway) they were all the same!
Looking good!
I had gait analysis earlier this week too - and mine is neutral (which was a surprise to me). I've been experiencing heal and knee pain. Anyway I new have a pair of Brooks Ghost 11 that provide more cushioning than my usual choice. Only time will tell if they help with the issues but they won't be making things any worse.
I had gait analysis done last weekend and I am a neutral (which I think is good but don't really understand) anyway I had been wearing my usual size and did not know you had to go up a size - got new ones with super comfort soles, splashed out on proper socks and lo and behold, my sole of feet, calf and knee pain has gone. Like running on air!!
