Just been out in the pouring rain for a quick 20 minute run as I wanted to get closer to my MFM target and have got to 24.9 miles !!!
What an enjoyable run compared to yesterday’s slog in the sun (I know you shouldn’t run on consecutive days but this was a one off due to work commitments and ensuring I’m going to complete it) and what a difference a day makes.
Only runners know what it feels like to “just run” (and sing) in the rain, think people were looking at me thinking I was mad but loved it and we are all doing this for such a special charity MIND and the good work they do to help others.
So to all the lovely VRB’s on here with only two days to go - get the cake and fizz ready for Friday ! 🎂🍾🏆🥇

YAY! Well done. You’re eating those miles up! 24.9miles. That’s loads of running! 👍💪
Sounds like you got a little soggy. 😬 at least you still enjoyed yourself and doing it all for a great cause. 👊🏻
Thanks Dave, yes was raining but still warm so felt really refreshing whilst singing to Van Halen (love 80’s pop) 🎧🤣 (please don’t tell me you weren’t born) 🤦🏼♀️
Did some yoga with Adrienne today too as haven’t done that for a few weeks and she is still far too flexible 🤣 (and I’m not)
Woop for cake day! Haha I’m not so keep on 80s stuff van halen is decent though! I was born in 88 😬. I thought you were only 21 😎. Yeah damn her for being so flexible! I’m like a lump of concrete when I’ve tried that before 😂 probably need more practice.
Haha! Not done any of her more “advanced” stretches yet then?! “Big hair” lol! Love a bit of whitesnake! Oh you’re a bit of an old school rock type person??
Thought one day I would eventually marry David Coverdale (lead singer of Whitesnake) 🤣 loved all those bands but known to be partial to cheesy pop too 🤦🏼♀️ 🎵
Just got back from a run too, though there was only a brief shower on mine. Well done for getting so close to your target 👏👏 I’ve just got 1.84 miles left to do now 😁 Will you be running again before it finishes?
Well done to you too Jill, not far to go now. I had such a bad run yesterday thought I would get out again after some You Tube yoga. No foot twinges either today thanks to your stretching exercises.
Glad you didn’t have any more twinges. I’m planning another run on Friday too to finish off but I think it’ll be an early one cos it’s going to be a warm day according to my forecast. Good luck for Friday!
Well done. I was hoping for rain but we had none just a lovely breeze. Ur oh so close. Nearly there and yes cake and fizz definately well earned come Friday that's for sure. X
Go you!! 0.1 of a mile to go... as Adriene would say... ‘You’ve got this!!!’
Running in the rain is my new BEST thing... it offsets the overheating. I love a ‘just a run, run’. Also, thanks so much for introducing me to NRC - I’m working my way through all the Headspace runs. (Essential for a difficult weekend with family this weekend - was running miles for my own mind!! 😂)
So here’s to lots of MfM cake and fizz Friday eve... (it’s my bd on Saturday and I’m away in Suffolk for the weekend, so I’m planning to roll the celebrations on into one long jogging, fizz-filled escapade 😉) x x
Isn’t running in the rain just great, even though people look at you and think “why” and I agree it helps with my overheating too and gives you some ME time away from all the stresses.
Can’t believe we are near the end and will have to think of something else to keep motivated.
My final run tomorrow and I will raise a glass for your birthday and hope you have a wonderful weekend in Suffolk.
Just think how much you have achieved - amazing !!!! X
Sounds like you are well on track! I’m sure everyone walking by loved your singing - you must have made their day! 😉 🎧 🎶
Not far to go now and I sang in my head most of the time as noone needs wants to hear that...even though some days I think I sound like Whitney ! 🤔 🤣🎵🤦🏼♀️
