Hi

Hallo jmo! Welcome to C25K and this forum. Follow the plan to the letter and you’ll fine- see Iannoda Truffe’s pinned post for the real ‘how to’ piece and don’t forget to let us know how you get on!
Good for you ! Go for it, it’s hard work but manageable even for the most unfit of people (this was me!)
I too hated long distance running at school but now I run 3 times a week and although it’s still hard work, I love it and it makes me feel so good in more ways than one . Give it a go and you will surprise yourself!
I had never run before and didn't know if I could complete c25k, but just trust the plan it really works and you will see when you do it for yourself and read the posts people put on here good luck 😊😊
I was hugely unfit. I used to wheeze just putting my socks on! Today I ran for three lots of five minutes! You can do it! This program is really good, and this forum is the absolute best! 😍
Hi and well done on a great decision. I too hated running since forever. I graduated 3 weeks ago and now enjoy it. I particularly love the feeling of success after each run, not to mention my fitness and improved body shape. 👍
Trust the program, don’t doubt your body’s capability and drink lots of water. This forum is great for support too. Good luck 🍀
Thanks!
Just wanted to give my support too. I never post on other forums but everyone on here makes you feel so supported so keep coming back for inspiration and experience. My first run of 60 seconds gave me a headache, made my arm go numb and very emotional - I thought, 60 seconds? Really? I am going to be useless ): but I stuck to the plan completely and now I’m on Week 7 and running for 25 mins!!! Really important for me was drinking plenty of water every day and don’t go fast. Keep your own pace and you’ll be fine.
Welcome to the forum jmo.
I was just like you back in February.
I’ve never had a runners physique and always hated it.
I have to say that doing C25K was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I love running now for the first time in my life.
There are a couple of things to remember though:
- slow and steady wins the race (youtu.be/9L2b2khySLE)
The only failed run is the one you didn’t do. If you put your shoes on and leave the house it’s still a win even if you have to come home early.
Good luck
Happy trails
Slow and
Hi there jmo3030. Welcome 💐Already smiling to think what a good surprise you have in store as you get into C25K 😁👍 just follow the instructions, enjoy this superb forum support and you’re never going to look back! 11 weeks ago I couldn’t run for 3 minutes now I graduated C25K and can run for 30 minutes. It’s made a massive difference to physical and mental health. Keep posting. We’re all cheering you on
Cross country used to be the dreaded day of the school year for me! Awful. After couch to 5k and then working up to 10k my favourite runs are now scampering over fields, hills and dales. Today I was running up hills in torrential rain and loving the madness of it all! It will change your life! I found it hard but it is amazing if you stick it out and everything you need help with is here! Have a great time!
