W1, R3 complete yey! So chuffed with myself for getting my fat backside off my couch and starting something that makes me feel so good. I did this mornings run in the glorious sunshine and damp, dewy grass. Feeling fabulous for completing week 1. Iโ€™m working tomorrow , so may leave week 2 until Monday or should I start it Sunday? Iโ€™ve left 1 day between each run so far and that seems to suit, but donโ€™t know if youโ€™re supposed to have more rest days? Now rehydrated and showered, such a good set up for the day. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š

See how you feel would be my advice, for the first couple of weeks I did 3 runs a week (so had 2 rest days between one of the runs) but then I switched to every other day to keep the momentum going and I'm still doing this now having graduated a month ago. I need to do it this way to keep it part of my routine. There are no hard and fast rules, sometimes you might feel like you need extra rest days but sometimes you might feel good to go, up to you, do what feels best. Congrats on finishing week 1, enjoy the coming weeks :)

Thanks for your advice Julia187, I think Iโ€™ll try the alternate days too as it does seem to suit....Iโ€™ll see i need a longer recovery after longer runs as you say? ๐Ÿ™

I know exactly how you're feeling I finished W1 yesterday. I have a knee issue, so Im just taking it day to day If I need 2 days rest thats fine. Its our own journey! Looking forward to next week and that is something I never thought Id say.. Good luck with W2.

Well done getting the first week in the bag.

I think you need to see how you feel about when you next run, as long as at least one rest day is in between then that seems to work.

Itโ€™s amazing how good this running malarkey makes you feel. Iโ€™m at risk of turning into a running bore at this rate!!!

Ha me too! But on the flip side I know I've also got some people into the program so I'm pretty pleased with that!

Lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ I feel the same. NewRunner4, โ€˜new runneritis โ€˜. Iโ€™m calling it, but who cares? As long as we all feel great about it! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Ooooh, Iโ€™m going to adopt that one - new runneritis!!! Thatโ€™ll make me smile when Iโ€™m telling everyone how great this is. ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†

Hi WB, You have every right to be chuffed. Did you take a before pic of WB at the beginning? For comparison later on? Is it too late? No. Just for you mind!

I had to do week one twice, I just couldnโ€™t finish those last few runs before she said โ€œwalk nowโ€. Follow the plan though. It works. Just a few weeks and you will be feeling loads better. Thirty minutes running is a long time away but this course will get you there. Then you can start thinking of 5k. I run on Mon,wed & Fridays. Leaves weekends free, provides a routine and gives you enough recovery time. Now just a few weeks on from my W1, itโ€™s all done.

30 minutes, then 5K too. You think you feel good now? Just you wait. You have so many good feelings coming as you reach each of the little goals on the way.

Some advice? Run light, run slow.

Enjoy your running

Thank you. Iโ€™ll measure myself tonight and then at the end of my 9 weeks.....it does seem a long way off, but Iโ€™m determined to run for 30 mins. Iโ€™ve got so much energy after these first 3 runs ๐Ÿ˜Š feel great ๐Ÿ‘

Thighs, calves, biceps too. First I noticed tighter tum but no weight change.. muscle is heavier than fat. Compare 8 ounces of cheese witn the milk it took to make it. Same idea. Keep having fun.

Hi Wobble! The plan mandates at least one clear rest day between runs but it very much depends on how you feel. I usually take 2 days because I feel that suits me best.
