So I was going to do my Week 9, Run 1 this evening. Last run was Thursday!
However today I wore a new pair of shoes out and have got the most horrendous open blisters on both heels .Tried to patch them up so I could run but just far too sore. Feel so stupid and cross with my self. All I can do is hope they are less sore tomorrow and try again then.

Ouch ouch,, this is why we do advise wear them around the house first... my new shoes are calling to me, but until I have worn them in a little..they will call in vain
Test up tomorrow and let those blisters heal... :0
Will do. They are just normal pumps not running shoes and looked so comfy so took the dog for a long walk in them I really should know better at my age though! It def is ouch at moment!
Phew.... but ouch ! I misread the post... please forgive me ! Still let the blisters feel better...I had some sandals on yesterday and they took some getting used to after running shoes and warm shoes with socks, with all the cold wet weather we have had
Ha nothing to forgive lol! I'm sat in my running gear now (but with bare feet) so all dressed up and not able to go! Isn't it funny when you can't do or have something you want it even more! Will be a lesson!
Completely agree, they instantly soothe and stay put.
I was walking around a city centre in some sneakers, felt a blister starting, nipped into Boots and bought a pack. I actually applied it whilst still in the shop. That was it. I went running the following day , no problems at all.
Ouch SuperMouse ! Painful blisters are horrendous, poor you - and its so easily done 😔 Don't be too hard on yourself 😊 A day or 2 and you'll get that run done 😬 X
Oh no! I agree with Hidden , Compeed plasters are the best. They got me through the first two weeks of my new trainers! They really cushion the affected area and help heal it so you can still go running. You just leave them on until they start to come off by themselves. They aren’t cheap (I think it was about £4 for 6 plasters) but they really help you carry on your running.
Yes, just be careful if you do finally take them off rather than letting them come off. They never came off completely by themselves with me and I think I probably took them off too early and opened it up again. If that happens, this is what worked for me: I used some medicated fabric tape and padding to make a loose plaster and wore tight ankle socks that both protected the ankles from the cuff of the shoe when I ran and kept the plaster in place. This helped them air when I wasn’t running and finally completely heal.
