I found W7R3 a bit hard today as the sun got to me right at the end my legs went to jelly. I hydrated properly before during and after like I always do but maybe I should be putting something in my water when I run like Science in Sport Go Hydro Tablets what do you guys think of that product or something else that you might have and maybe I might wait until it’s cool or run at night time after tea time 😉🏃🏻♂️
W7R3 done was hard to hot 🥵 : I found W7R3 a... - Couch to 5K

I am looking at electrolytes from Holland and Barrett to see if it helps with the fatigue. Feel I need a little something as well as loads of water.
Electrolytes are more for long distance running and shouldn't be needed on c25k. Maybe try a cooler time or go a little slower?
I am useless at running in the warm. I just wait for the rain to start. Fortunately in this country, I usually don't have to wait long
Very true next time I’m going to wait until it’s cool enough to do it as we aren’t used to the hot weather not like I’m complaining I hope it’s nice for the weekend bbq and a few ales will be nice 😉🏃🏻♂️
Summer is coming. It's going to get hotter. Oh, sorry, actually this is the UK so it probably won't. Anyway, when the conditions change you need to adapt. If you run uphill you slow down. If it gets hotter, slow down. Drink more. But like danis said, you don't need electrolytes for C25K.
Advice is very useful thank you yes I slow down when hot but won’t be running in the heat again and I go slow uphill as well and hydrated well so I’m going to run when it’s cooler it’s a win win. I take it the electrolytes are needed for running 10k or more is that right?
I think it depends on the person. Your body will adjust to the mileage. I can happily run 10 miles or more without water but always carry some in case. I have a cup of coffee in the morning then go.
Right ok so it all depends 😉
The amount of sweat produced varies quite a lot between individuals. Regular exercise in the heat will acclimatise your body and it will produce more sweat. However, it will also acclimatise to preserve sodium so that you lose less through sweating. The levels of other solutes like potassium, magnesium are not really significant in sweat.
There is a huge industry trying to sell you this stuff but you don't need it unless you start doing endurance stuff.
