Tonight was the first time I ran with my hair in a swishy ponytail (normal scrunched up) I thought "I really look the part now". Well blow me it slows you down!! ๐๐ Ok so it's more likely being a little dehydrated and no 4pm banana ๐ Tonight was tough going physically. Luckily no gremlin visit so I just stuck to the old slow it down then slow some more.
Otherwise fairly uneventful. The cow parsley was very fragrant as a lovely warm evening on the south coast. Barely saw a soul until I got to the park and discovered the softball team playing. Who knew we even had such a thing ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Hope you are all having a good week. Happy running folks xxx
Ps picture is totally irrelevant to the running but it's pretty and made me smile at breakfast this morning ๐

Glad to you enjoyed your run today Jogunlikely, lovely photo, so week 8 is completed, on to week 9, your graduation run in 3 runs time, good luck for that, by the way I reran run 2 of week 9 this morning, being part of my 'runiversary season' from next week I'm going to try to quicken my runs up a bit, last year I ran a 5K in a little under 33 minutes, at today's pace IF it had been a 5K I would have ran it in around 40/45 minutes. ๐, maybe the 40 part as I quickened up over the last 2 minutes. ๐ ๐
Yeah, um, helps if your hair is scrunched when ๐โโ๏ธโ I'm sure that was what did do it, but do try to make sure you to keep yourself well hydrated ๐ง
Well done for getting out there for the last run of your penultimate week, and making it through despite the cows' fragrant donations! ๐ฎ I wish you all the best for your final runs and whatever you choose to do after that.
swishy ponytails r us....haha started putting mine up like this thought it made me look more streamlined and yes wearing black too that is my thing now. Since I have lost weight it notices more in black ...not! My run tomorrow and I am off to my favourite place the seafront along where I live. It is a hill to get there (downwards yah) but up at the end obvs when on my last legs. Only doing a shorter one tomorrow to gear myself up for my next challenge which will be to add on some more mins to my longer weekend run. Nice to read about your day and just one more week to go for you...tahdah you have this in the bagxx
Thanks. I too wear black, I'm going for ninja runner look ๐คฃ
You are braver than me, I aim to go up first so I have the downhill joy on the way home! Isn't it great feeling when you know you are off to do your favourite run. I still can't believe I'm actually enjoying this running malarky. I detested sport at school. C25K has a lot to answer for!!
no choice on the hills I am afraid I live at the top of it no option but to head down first, wish I could flip though would be a nice change. I normally drive to my local cycle track which is exactly 3.1 miles long my aim is one day to get to the end and back for 10k haha.
Many years ago I actually ran a lot and even did the London Marathon in 1989. That said since that I have not run since in all this time so it was a rude awakening...so pleased this forum is here for support and for encouragement it certainly kept me focusedxx
It was a treat to myself. I love an iris and until now I've not had any in this garden. Poor thing doesn't have a proper home as I haven't made the flower bed yet ๐คฆโโ๏ธ this one is called Total Eclipse. I've a rather pretty pale pink due to flower any moment so I'll pop that one on my next post x
Iโm of the short & curly brigade, and always envy the ponytails of all sorts. ๐๐ But Iโve often wondered if those long swishy ones were uncomfortable after the first kilometre. And now I know! ๐คช
Well I have hair which in the early morning looks as though I have put my finger in the electric socket! As I wear aftershokz earphones I wear a hat that covers all. Always wanted long hair, but never had the patience to grow it!
All good options. I have to wear a baseball cap, it keeps the wispy buts under control but I'm so used to wearing it I feel a bit naked and self conscious without it ๐คทโโ๏ธ I wear glasses so it also acts as a rain barrier ๐
I put mine up in a pony tail, but I find it depends a bit on the height. If itโs about half way up the back of my head that is ok, it just kind of sits there and I donโt notice it, but if it is right on the crown it does get very swishy and I find that is quite distracting, and once it gets swinging it is very hard to change the rhythm so I canโt speed up or slow down, Iโm just stuck there at the same pace swishing away ๐๐โโ๏ธ
