Really wanted to know how long it would take to run for 4k so this morning didn't start my app until Laura told me to run, ended up running almost 30mins last 2 mins were tough but I did it. I know I still have another run this week and another 2 weeks after that before graduation but was really hoping that 30mins would take me to 5k not 4k lol. I still did a cool down walk at the end though.
W7r2 distance: Really wanted to know how long it... - Couch to 5K
W7r2 distance
It'll happen, but possibly not until after graduation. Most runners are not running 5k by the end of the plan, but they build up to it in the weeks that follow. It should perhaps be called 'Couch to running for 30 minutes', but it's not so catchy.
You are doing really well, and becoming stronger both mentally and physically. Your posts are really positive and enthusiastic, so just keep going and enjoy the run ππ€
Thank you delly-dot, I will just be doing to 25 mins on my next run I was just interested to know lol, at least I know I can do it!
Donβt worry about it would be my advice. Youβre doing really well (and are quite quick, especially compared to me). Too much emphasis on speed too soon can be the way to injury unless youβre lucky. Think back to Week 1 or 2. Remember how that felt? Maybe reread your posts from then? You have a long running career ahead of you if you want it, so build the foundation carefully. Enjoy your running!
Thus sayeth the Tortoise π’ ππ
Thanks for advice, it's always welcome. I try to keep it slow didn't think I was quick at all lol I'm definitely going to keep running the feeling it gives u is too good to give up π
Congrats Shar π that's really impressive stats for where you are in the programme π as Delly dot and Granspeed have said, try not to think about how far you're going - you're in no hurry to reach 5k in 30 minutes and it will happen in due course if it's what you want to achieve. For the time being stick to what Laura says and make sure you're stretching afterwards.
Trust me when I say that you're not by any means the only one that goes a bit too far out of curiosity - I'm on a 10 week 5k - 10k programme and accidentally ran 10k last week π
I look forward to seeing you progress through the C25K and where you go next!
Thank you for the vote of confidence, or that's how I read it π I'm actually excited for the future and what's to come, no matter how hard it may be π
That was what I intended π I think pretty much anything anyone ever says on this forum is always in an effort to give confidence lol
You go girl! πππββοΈπ
Thanks π maybe see u at the 10k mark one day!! ππ
Distance at graduation is a hot topic. Obviously the program is called C25K but that is not terribly scientific. How can a program that is open to all ages, genders, fitness levels etc mandate a distance at graduation? Really, the program should be called C2r430m3xi1w but it is not so memorable.
There was a poll a few months ago about distance covered in W9. 90% of respondents on this forum did not run 5km, but they ALL graduated.
Thank you that was interesting, I'm just taking it as it comes till I graduate now
