Got through run 3 on Saturday and feeling very pleased with myself. Almost didn't make it to the gym as had a day packed with jobs to do but I was going out for birthday drinks that evening and was determined to be able to celebrate finishing C25K too.
It was a grind but I'm finding that even when I have a 'bad' day I'm able to tell my brain to shut up moaning and I can still get to 30 minutes which is great. Earlier in the week at W9R1 I had a terrific run and still felt full of energy after 30 minutes so carried on to do a full 5K in 38 minutes. Could have done even further but decided not to push my luck!
This whole process has been amazing - at 47 I'm probably fitter now than I've been at any point in my life. I'm also 2 stones down from when I started in February!
Now for a month or so of consolidation and trying to tweak my pace up and then I'll start doing a longer run once a week and see where that gets me. I'm also planning to do the Sunrise City 5k at the end of next month to give me something to train towards - sunrisecity.co.uk/cities/sh...
