A week of firsts!

So this week I have ran for the first time with my 61 year old Dad. He has ran all his adult life 4 times a week and is very fit. It was really lovely to be able to run with him and it’s nice to think it’s something we can do regularly. He said he never thought we would ever go running together!!

Tonight I have ran 8k for the first time. Pretty consistent times although on the slow side overall.

I have the Manchester 10k next Sunday but after that I’m looking forward to getting back to my 5k’s 4 times a week. Not sure this long distance running is for me 🏃‍♀️😩🙈. Having said that it’s been good to push myself, I suppose!!!

Hope everyone else is doing well and still enjoying their running? 😃💪👟

If you know your bib number Kimov, you could tell us, I have just noticed that it is being broadcast on BBC 1 television on Sunday at 12 noon, us viewing could look out for you and cheer you on.

I haven’t got it yet, only the shirt! It should come this week! I would hate to be on TV all red faced and sweaty 😩🙈😂

Lol, you don't see that part unless they interview you, nevertheless I wish you and all the other runners a great run.

Congratulations on the big 5! Or 8k, I measure in miles. Sub 7 km average... that’s not slow!!! That’s 1:10 10k pace, which many of us would love... its sub 2 hours 30 HM pace... if I was running a HM soon I’d be chuffed with that time. Great great job. Enjoy that 10k

Not slow at all.. well done you and Dad...:)

Distance running to me is like drinking a fine wine... best sipped slowly and every kilometre savoured... :)

Well done! I ran with my daughter a couple of weeks ago, she recently graduated too. We’re running pretty much similar times so it was easy. We’re doing the Park Run together this Saturday, her 1st. My 3rd.

And Yesterday I did my 1st Race for Life 5K, do a lot of firsts for both of us!
