Managed to get the trackies off and into shorts today. Nice run in sunshine. Ignored Laura, who is is still telling me land gently on my heels. Someone needs to update podcasts.

I disliked the the way you said you ignored Laura, I am not sure if anyone should ignore Laura, OK, sometimes she goes to sleep or for a cuppa, forgets to tell you what part to do next or give you advice, but to ignore her, tut tut, that's like ignoring to do what your PE teacher told you to do at the PE class.

Glad that you enjoyed your run today but no one should ever ignore Laura. 🙄

Sorry Laura, wherever you are, I now feel appropriately chastened.

Laura is a very kind person, she will have forgiven you this time but don't ignore her for the remainder of the course, onwards and upwards to run 2 of week 6 which is the last run with interval walks and runs. 🏃 😊

Laura will forgive him but what about the army of Laura? I am disappointed to see someone even write that phrase.

New one on me CheapRunner, I have never heard of 'the army of Laura' no such thing.

Well, it is like the club we are not supposed to talk about. This army has been trained by Laura for 9 weeks and everyone of them is a foot soldier. Only the very best and they won't listen anything against her.

OK, that means that I AM a member of that army, I take everything that Laura says as they used to call 'Gospel'

My running has suddenly improved, now running very fast.

It would have been faster if you had not "ignored Laura".

I think that Laura’s advice is a matter of “best advice for total newbies”. My recollection is that she says to land on the heels, not the toes or side of your feet.

We all know that mid-foot is the best place to land, but that would be hard for a beginner to achieve. So the second-best place to land is heels, hence Laura’s advice.
