So, I graduated!

I graduated on Thursday (if I can call it that when I did my own thing and started at week5). It wasn’t my best run, it was way slower than the previous 3 runs I didn’t feel as estatic at the end, despite it being my last of the end. Maybe it was just a bad run. I’d been waiting all week to do it, with work and weather pushing it back, and had spent so long imagining how amazing it would be.

Anyway, now what? How do I keep up the momentum? How do I make sure I keep running the distance and how do I stop myself from stopping without the voice in my ear telling me how long I have left?

Hello. I did final run last week and was left feeling a bit flat. Went out 2 days later without Laura in my ear though and just ran the distance I knew was 30 mins and it felt great actually. Think first time I felt like a proper runner without stabilisers on. Planning to try the stepping stones C25K podcast soon and Nike run seem to have guided and training runs. You might find it’s nice to just to enjoy the freedom for a bit tho - run different routes and different times . I’m in the same boat so will let you know how I get on.

Thankyou. I was going to do parkrun this morning so I’d have the distance and know where I stopped last week when on my second run. Woke up and wasn’t feeling it, plus it was tipping down and didn’t fancy a muddy field. Going to go out tomorrow instead. Feeling like I now need to plan a good 4-5k route to ensure I keep running for 30 mins. I’ll checkout those podcasts you mentioned.

Congratulations socklady on graduating from C25K, well done, onwards and upwards to the 10K podcasts if you wish to run for longer distances. 😊

Can I still do this even though I didn’t start from week 1? I was so much a non runner that I was scared I’d even fail and quit on week 1 so started off running between lampposts and joined in on week 5 when I was attempting longer runs and struggling to progress.
