Did a run of 3.94km on Tuesday and a 3.6km this morning.

It is still slow but I think I have speeded up a little bit. The breathing is still hard but not quite as laboured. It all feels a lot better.

Three more runs before my 5K Race for Life on Sun 19th May.

Well done! With the benefit of hindsight, my advice is don't worry about speed at all at this stage. You will be better off building your aerobic capacity by taking it slow and steady while increasing your time/distance. With repetition, you'll find that your body will deliver the same pace but at a lower heart rate. And you need to keep your heart rate in the aerobic zone because that's what burns fat. Good luck and stick with it.

I am aiming to get round the 5K without stopping, I don't really mind how long it takes! I'm running at about 9/10km an hour.
