I’m actually doing this! Week 5 Run 2 done

I haven’t posted for a while. Been concentrating on just doing the runs. I just wanted to post an update as I feel like I’m actually achieving this and hope to spur on those who are unsure whether they can do it. From looking at one of my early posts about worrying about moving into week 2 I can’t believe this morning I ran for 2 lots of 8 minutes and can honestly say it’s got easier! I had a very sore knee from week 2 to the end of week 4. It was so painful after each run that I contemplated having a long break but amazingly, after starting week 5, the knee is fine. I think I may have found my steady pace and I have settled into a good running style. I no longer feel tense that I can’t do it. I think I’ve just relaxed into the runs and am so pleased I’m pain free during & after a run now. Rather than checking the time left on the app for each run, I just listen to some good dance music as I’m running and am amazed when Laura says “you’ve 60 seconds left”! I smiled from ear to ear today when I did my first 8 minutes. It felt so good. So just to say to those in weeks 1 and 2, it really does get easier. Everything seems to settle down and it feels so natural. Keep going!

Wonderful post and very true! There’s a lot for the body to do in the early weeks, and a lot for us to learn. But getting into your own comfortable pace is key.

So anyone struggling - listen to JanuceG68 - it does get easier, and if you need to just slow down as the durations increase, find your groove & you’ll get there!

Thank you! I’ve read so many inspirational posts that have helped me, I thought I needed to share my experience so far.

Great running, it is good to post regularly and then when you're struggling you can look back and see how far you've came 😊
