Why is it, on my most exhausted day I have my best ever run?!
I've been a morning runner so far, but this morning I just couldn't. Too exhausted from a flat-out few days, loving my pjs and morning coffee too, too much, cuddled up on the sofa with the dog and the papers...... I just couldn't face W6R3.
The day progressed, and I developed an evil ear-worm.....π
π"You should be going for a run..."
π"It's lovely outside. You should really be going for a run....."
π"You do realise that if you don't run today then the run-schedule for this week goes completely out the window...."
π"You will be so annoyed with yourself if you don't do this..."
π"Oh for goodness sake, would you just do it!!!!"
I did it. I'm so glad I did it. My best run yet. I still don't know where it came from.
I love the ear worm ππ₯°
It kicked me into action and now I'm not feeling nervous about Week 7!
Thank you. I love the slow jogging technique that DiscoRunner shared with me in week one. I shall keep slow and steady. This was a big boost to my confidence today when I was in need of it as I was a little apprehensive about leaving the intervals behind.
Well done. You are now a day ahead of me rather than a day behind! Iβm doing W6R3 tomorrow. A little nervous but also looking forward to it. A kilometre in 6.41 is fabulous. x
Well done you... I did read this and intended coming back to it!
Slow and steady works, it really does and gets us to the most amazing places...you just find what I call your happy pace....
You know what that is as the runs get longer... and then, you feel as if you can run for ever.
As you move on the longer runs are perfect for this.. the newly forming running legs know what to do... so start slow and stay slow. Land lightly, I call it, kissing the ground with your feet...and know you will do the run.
Each and every run makes you stronger... You are doing wonderfully!
Thank you! It was such a strange run, as I really had been fighting the ear-worm π all day. The first 10 minutes of the run were hard going, but then I suddenly seemed to loosen up and relax into it - I've not had that experience before. The realisation that I was actually enjoying the run, not just getting to the end of the run, was a new one too. π
