Lost my way after week 8

Hmmph. Feeling a bit dejected as it's been about 10 days since I last ran. Got to week 8, was feeling on top of the world then had one bad run and it completely knocked me off my stride (pun intended). Gave up after about 20 mins and have since made every excuse under the sun to not go to the gym and try again.

I guess this post is for my own benefit as much as anything: I know what I've got to do! Seeing as I'm doing this for the health benefits, I am going to give myself a hefty kick up the bum and get back on it. My body deserves me to take care of it.

😏🙂💪🏃‍♀️

If you want I can lock you out of your home, take your keys and run. And you can follow me for 20mins. That should do the trick.

From what I understand that is that you wont lose much practise in the 2weeks' time. So just gear up and run for the joy of it.

Sounds just like me! I hated the first week 8 run, stopped half way through the second and started to think maybe I’d reached my limit. Then lo and behold managed the run easily this morning. Slowing right down was the trick. Now I’m all positive again and know I can finish. Don’t despair, just get out first thing in the morning before you start making excuses, slow as you can bear to run. Good luck x

Get back on it. There is no such thing as a failed run, only a run where you learnt something and it sets you up to try that run again. Good luck

Now you've posted, you know you're going to do it and enjoy it, right? Get out there and give it a try, you'll feel really pleased with yourself after. Good luck!

You won’t have lost any fitness for two weeks - so get out there, if not today - tomorrow! We all have bad runs, along with the good. It happens. But don’t let that defeat you. Focus back on feeling on top of the world. Slow right down, you can always work on your pace later, the point of c25k is getting you to run for 30 minutes. You can do this - don’t let a set back rob you of this amazing thing you are doing for your body & your mind! You can do this!!! x

Every run is training for the next one........... good or not so good, there is always something to learn from it.

Take the positives and move on.

When you do your next run, do your best to prepare for it in terms of restedness, hydration and nutrition and head out relaxed and confident.

You can do this.
