Today I managed week 8 run 2, however I found it incredibly hard to find the motivation to keep going. If I’m honest, I find running boring and am really struggling mentally, knowing there are 4 more runs to go - I’d originally thought it was an 8 week course!
Any tips would be greatly appreciated x

Just music. I’ve a carefully selected playlist which has seen me well so far, I guess I could try an audiobook or podcast, although they don’t really appeal.
The longer runs do test our mental strength and the easiest way to get over it, in my opinion, is with a good mind occupying distraction.
Many people find comedy podcasts take their mind completely off running.
I run 50/50 with/without music and non music runs are by far the best for letting the mind wander, to think complex issues through. Around W7 or 8 I was having the same issue as you, so started doing a fully verbalised running commentary of everything that I could see, hear and feel as I ran. New surroundings can help with this.
Just don't think about running. It's boring............
I graduated this morning! Thank you for your advice and support! I managed a run on a treadmill and that helped give the impetus to go back outside where it’s easier to run! X
