Wow! Good luck! Take your own time, don't give up, but don't be disheartened by set backs along the way either.

Stick with the programme and you will surprise yourself! Are you trying any particular diet or new way of eating? I'm losing weight (trying to!) and am doing C25K and also cutting down on carbs.

Don’t worry about 5k but follow plan and you’ll get to finish it and it matters not a joy if your 30 mins is super slow ! You can do this!

I guarantee you will surprise yourself! It’s took me 6 months to graduate due to various reasons but I’m down to 31:34 for 5k only a few weeks after graduation.

I started around 18.5 st and I’m now just under 17.5 st. Keep at it, you’ll amaze yourself!

Go Saz, have faith in yourself and remember every step is a step, no matter how small.

Walk if you cant run, just keep moving.

Well done you xx

You can do it. It will take time and determination but you have already taken the first step. I have found the C25k really useful in my attempt to get fitter and loose some weight. I find it easier to make better food choices as I don't want to undo my good work after all the effort I have put into my run.

It might be worth popping along to your Dr for a bit of an mot. I had some issues with my breathing when i started so went to the Dr and he was very supportive, gave me a check up and the great advice 'if you stop breathing stop running!

Download the C25k app and give it a go. Keep your pace slow and steady and be kind to yourself.

Good luck.

Welcome to this wonderful virtual running family SazO . You'll get lots of encouragement here, and you really can do this in terms of running for 30 minutes. The programme really works to get you running. The other part will be managing your diet and you may be able to get help from your GP or other agencies. In Luton they can refer you to weight loss groups which offer support in managing your diet (without any fancy fads or gimmicks) as well as getting you more active. Perhaps they have something like that in your area.

Good luck, you've taken the first step, now get your running kit sorted out, download the podcasts or the app and get yourself out of the door for run 1, taking it really slow and steady.

Good luck.

You can do this - even when it seems so hard just keep moving - even if you slow down to a walk - I think the key is to build it up slowly! Good luck - let us know how you get on

Congratulations on finding the determination to do this!!! 😃

As everyone has said: take it slow STICK to the programme. Allow yourself some side steps. And you will be amazed!

@Twinkle2 on here is a real inspiration. Look for her and read her posts! Plus post on here for fantastic support!!! Good luck!!

Good luck!! I am doing this whilst losing weight too, I'm on week 3 now and amazed I've got that far, just take it slow and don't stop (hark at me giving advice!)

Today I completed my 2nd run. After smoking for 35 years, not exercising at all for 43 years, 30 kg overweight and 60. I know you can do it. One step at a time. Don't think about tomorrow just today.

I had the same concerns. I started at the start of Feb and I'm still on Week 1. However when I look back at my first attempt, I could barely complete the first 60 second run. Now and am fairly consistently managing the full W1 program, even if I miss the odd run section and its a regular 3k including warm up and cool down. Once I manage the full thing 3 times in the same week I will move on to W2. The important thing is that you go at your own pace and keep trying. You will have bad runs that aren't as good at the previous ones, but don't let them stop you.

Think positively!! You have made an amazing first step. I am very overweight and am now running 6-8k, building up to 10k. However, I have taken my eye completely off the ball with regards to my diet and if anything I’ve gained a little, so be mindful that running, especially in the early stages of C25k, doesn’t burn as many calories as you feel so continue to make good choices: learn from my mistake!! Good luck and enjoy it 👍
