Hello : Hi im kerry, 35, mother of two. I'm not... - Couch to 5K
Hello
Welcome to this great support network and you be just made a great choice! If you follow the programme and take it slow and steady you will be running for 30 mins in a few weeks time. I m a 50 ur old mum to 2 boys and a foster parent to many more kids, overweight, strapped for time and often lacking Motivation but here I am slowly running 3x a week. Yes it can be done and the hardest part is getting out the front door
Welcome hello 🙋 lovely to have you here. Ask anything you need to. There's always someone ready with an answer for you. ☺
Well done on taking the first steps & good luck with the programme. ☺
Thankyou for the replies. Ive been out and done my first run this evening. Those are words i'd never thought i would say 😊 I was slow as a snail but i did it. The hardest bit was actually getting out of the house in the first place. My daughter wanted to go out on her bike this evening so i thought 'go for it', and so i actually ran, slowly, and in the light! I just told myself if anyone sees me it just looks like i'm chasing her 😂 Hopefully ive got the hardest bit out of the way now
Well done Kerry; first one is the hardest. Now you've started there'll be no stopping you!
Just take it slow and steady; snail pace is just fine 🐌
Welcome to the best and most supportive forum X
The hardest bit was starting.. and you did that! Snail pace is great... I used to call myself the grey snail!!!!
Hi Kerry. So many folk have come on here to the words of 'I'm no runner...' , so many have now graduated! Well done for getting the first run done, and don't worry about speed at the moment - slow and steady is the best way at this stage. Good luck with your next run and keep us posted on your progress!😀
Great stuff Kerry , Welcome aboard !
Well done on taking up the programme and making a positive change to your health and well being.
The thing with change is that the beginning is so hard , the middle is the messiest but the end is just soo worth it !
You've done the hardest bit, getting up off the couch and out of the door ! Good Luck for the rest of the programme and Well done on your run today xxx
Hi and welcome...this is the best place to be, if you want to change for the better!
Support, advice, encouragement, sympathy and a gentle shove when needed...follow the programme and keep posting... we are here
Me too Kerry! I'm a newbie too - did my first ahem 'run' today. Slower than slow but I did it - & so can you!
Welcome, you'll find everyone is lovely on here. You won't regret it. Slow and steady, one run at a time. Enjoy your journey and keep us posted.
Great work Kerry. You have started a new chapter. Congratulations and welcome to c25k x
Well done! I'm 41, always picked last for PE, never had any stamina, and yet somehow made it through the program and can honestly say I enjoy running now. Important to remember, some runs feel rubbish, but some feel great, and for no particular reason. Don't let a rubbish one put you off, just be glad it's done and stay committed to the next one. The hardest part has always been just getting out the door!
Well done... I'm a 45 year old mum of two and I've been running for 3 years now. It's not easy but the rewards are bountiful, keep us posted on your progress 😎
The biggest hurdle has now been jumped! Very well done. Onwards now and don't look back!
Welcome! I think most of us here started from a similar position to you. This is such a great programme and if all of us can get there you can too Take it slow and steady, listen to Laura, post on here for advice and encouragement or just to celebrate each run. This forum is fantastic - there is so much advice, experience, encouragement and inspiration here and the forum folk definitely got me through the programme. We'll be with you every step of the way.
Have to agree with everything that's already been said. The advice on this forum is just incredible. The support, amazing and the feeling that you have a ton of completely non-judgemental folk fighting your corner is liberating. I still feel like a bit of a fraud and think I must be running slower than anyone else but that's the gremlins for you. Congratulations on starting and finishing your first run. You're on your way!
