Hello all, hope you're all doing well! I need motivate, I've stopped running for a couple of months as I've been poorly, then the 2 year old poorly then me and so on, anyways I think I see light at the end of the tunnel, I've bought a Quinny speedi sx pushchair from ebay (cheap) bought some nice support running shoes and some running gear, so I have no excuses left! But all my so called "friends" just keep rubbing in their weight loss, mocking large people like myself, telling me I can't and will never be able to change my size like they have and do know what, Ive started to believe them and have no motivation left! I guess I'm just after some motivation and know it can be done 😩

You get going with your scheme and never mind naysayers. Makie it your business to succeed. You have to do it though and not cutting yourself too much slack

I ran to a 10k running plan from the kindle book of pushchair running larger running lady Julie Creffield

Take a look at her inspirational website. She does virtual races for her blog group to keep folks motivated. Her website is called Too fat to run

Running regularly, and doing some exercixes alongside it, will see your weight shift. It's bound to but will come off quicker when combined with a healthy diet

Good luck☺

I am trying, i do try to eat healthy, and feel better when I do! Once I start exercising I'll want to cook healthy, once I collect the pushchair, I'll start and keep everone updated on her, it's great encouragement. thank you for your nice reply x

Well how did these "friends" change their size? Did they have a Hollywood exclusive PT come to their house under some secret contract? Look you can do it!! You just have to have the determination, which sounds like you have and some will power. Be kind to yourself and realistic. You can do this and keep posting on here!!

People like your 'friends' make me so angry! Why can they do it and not you? They should be encouraging and helping you not putting you down. The negative side of me wonders if they don't want you to lose weight so that they feel better about themselves. If I was you I would get up and do C25k just to show them, imagine their faces when you graduate! You can do it, don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't!!

Did you call them friends? I think they sound incredibly mean. You can and will be able to do this. You've got all the gear, just go for it. Download the podcasts and get out there. Start eating healthily and you will feel so much better about yourself. Got to show a great example to that little one of yours!

We'll all be cheering you on, so forget those so called friends!

What horrible mean 'friends'! When I lost weight 11 years ago with Weightwatchers it inspired me to help and encourage my friends who wanted to lose weight, not gloat at them! I think you should tell them to naff off, and prove them wrong - it could be just the motivation you need (well it would be for me, because I am just bloody-minded like that!).

You are doing completely the right thing. I've never run with a buggy, but I think it is a very laudable plan and I wish you the best of luck with it - whenever I see anyone doing it, I'm always super impressed. Stick with us on this forum, and you will get all the encouragement you need. You will find once you start doing the programme that you WANT to eat healthy food and cut back on booze as you just feel better and more able to run when you've got the right fuel inside you. That doesn't mean you can't eat cake, but you probably won't want to eat it so often.

Can I suggest also using my fitness pal? It's a bit of a faff to start with until you build up a library of regular foods, but it's great because it makes you really see where your 'naughty' calories are, and makes you WANT to get out and move so that you can log some exercise.

Good luck, and keep posting :)

Jeesh. Who needs enemies with friends like that? Ignore them and get on with your plan - it's yourself that you face in the evening when you haven't done what you want to do, not them.. You've already made the first step -DONT stop now. Every great journey starts with just one step, and we're all here to cheer you on no matter what. Take one day at a time and you'll be surprised how much easier it is. I'll even pull out my cheerleader gear and sing Tom Jones with PoppyPug if you like, but DO IT. Life's too short to let other people's opinions get in the way of your dreams. Hugs xoxo

Hi Katie, ignore those naysayers, they probably want you to stay as you are to validate lazy choices they are making. You can make a difference through this programme and healthy eating. One day at a time. No quick miracles, but it has to be your choice to do it, motivation can only come from you.

Thank you everyone, you've all given great advice and been really kind, One of the worst things is one of them is my sister!! i will be out running tomorrow testing my new 3 wheels and also starting hockey on Sunday mornings, which I'm really looking forward to, I've got no unhealthy food left in the house and I don't drink so there's another plus, I can't deal with a toddler and a hangover lol.
