What do people wear in the rain? Surely a waterproof would make one perspire to a horrendous degree?

It may be a welcome relief! I for one, get extremely hot while exercising.

As little as possible.

Fortunately I was born with a waterproof skin and so my internal organs don't get wet in the rain. If it is absolutely chucking it down I'll wait for an hour or so, and sometimes I will wear a light running jacket, more to keep me warm rather than keeping me dry. Biggest hazard with running in the rain & cold is the increased chance of chaffed nipples (*)(*). Normally find out the damage in the shower when it all starts stinging.

I have waterproof running jacket that I got from Decathlon... big vents up the back and big vents down the underside of the arm. I only wear that if it's REALLY chucking it down as it does mean you get hotter (I wear the thinnest tee-shirt I have underneath). If it's drizzling I'm just in shorts and tee as usual... I think getting the right tee is important... proper technical fabric doesn't hold as much water as a normal moisture wicking tee. I definitely wouldn't wear cotton at all for running.

Unless it’s verging on freezing, I just get wet. It’s nice anyway.

haha - this morning looked like a downpour was imminent so I put on a thin waterproof jacket. I won't say I regretted it but the rain only came down lightly. I was pretty warm and my t-shirt was soaked by the end of the 30 min run but as I want to lose weight it came in handy. Don't think I would do it next time though, just get out and run.

My rugby gear is pretty much designed to be all weather so that's what I tend to use in any event. My only concession is I'll often wear a beanie to stop the water running through what little hair I have left, down my face and down my neck...
