Watching the C25k on breakfast this morning, busy with other stuff๐๐๐, caught the final shot and was immediately excited when Carol introduced Tim, not our IannodaTruffe.๐ค๐
Tim Jones.
Just another senior moment.๐๐๐
With our Mentorโs distinctive photo.๐ค๐๐๐๐๐๐
Do not know what I was thinking about.๐๐ Off to do my training.๐๐๐
Ha,I saw that too Tbae, the lovely Laura whose voice took many of us from the couch to becoming runners was great to see though...
The relaunch of the app means they have Laura available as a coach now, to run with using your own music.. what a winning combination! Well done OneYou๐...
Good morning Jan, Iโm still on the IC going stir crazy. Been told Iโll be out of action for 3weeks.....couldโve been worse I suppose ๐
I had a 1hour session with a Sports Physio last Thurs and at times I thought โAm I really paying for this lady to put me through all this painโ I could have hit her a couple of times ๐๐ Still, as they say, โNo pain no gainโ ๐
Been doing my Cardio and Core exercises, off to the Gym in a bit, must keep the fitness levels up. Us old โuns lose it quickly if we donโt keep on top of it!
Enjoy your week guys, whatever youโre doing ๐โโ๏ธ๐
Its nice and sunny here, my run is this afternoon, somewhere new, while hubby is blood doning... looking forward to it... (I won't be doing 45 mins though๐) I may do the app with Laura chatting to me for 30 mins...
One more run of week seven left to go - looking forward to week eight and have come down with a bug. Hope it is fleeting - and looking forward to spring!
The new version of the app, with Laura as a coach leaves me with a dilemma... Do I see out the last two weeks of the plan with the trusty podcasts (and that perennial favourite, Julie!), or do I download the app and still have Laura, but try a spotify playlist (if only I could remember who it is on here who's done some running playlists which sound like my kind of thing...!). Hmmm, choices, choices...!
I think err on the side of caution Saul, maybe put your gear on a do a little walk/run to see if there is an issue...then next time you will feel more confident...๐x
That's what I was thinking, same as Friday I'll start and see how it goes. It's weird there's no pain or anything, maybe a decent knee support is needed. I have one of those knee straps which i've had on over the weekend, not seen any real difference with it though.
Could just be the 2-3months out and your knees objecting to the impact again... see how it goes, are you breaking back in gently...no need to push yourself. Run/walk would be fine...๐x
I think you are right, with the knee not being too happy with me impacting 4K on it all of a sudden. Today's run went well managed to do a full 5K without any niggles and the knee didn't say anything.
I am running a lot slower than my normal pace and will keep this up until my fitness level, muscle strength is back to normal.
Hello all, I am off to Scotland to visit my pa this weekend and have mapped out a 10K to do. Going to try to do a 6K tomorrow and Thursday to prep for it. Happy running all
I just did W8R1 today and it felt great! Always a challenge, but today was enjoyable, and I wasn't too exhausted at the end. I can't believe it. Just 5 runs left until graduation! 8 weeks ago I had no idea if I could do this. And not only that, but I love running. I know not everyone does. I truly enjoy being out running three days a week, I even like the bad runs.
Looks as though I'm going to be doing vertical swimming rather than running tonight, unless the rain eases off! Ah well, it'll keep me cool I suppose, and might mean there aren't too many other people around whether I go for two laps of the park, or down the main road and back...
I think most people are just interested to know that its normal for everyone, and that by going steady they can push through it and feel better as they get into the run... ๐xx
I had vaguely thought about doing my w8r3 tonight rather than tomorrow - but by the time I got home from church things it was 4.45pm, I hadnโt had time for any lunch, and the rain was absolutely heaving down. So Plan A remains - get up tomorrow morning (not especially early!), sort out a few things for Mr Rainbow then go for my run before taking DD2 to the O2 arena for a very loud evening... Iโm NOT going to miss scheduled runs now the end of the beginning is so nearly in sight!
