Just completed w1r2 outdoors instead of on the treadmill. Felt a bit self conscious to start but once I got going I didn’t think about it and in fact quite enjoyed it. Much better than the treadmill 👍🏻 also I used the jsr method and loved it 😊 next run Thursday can’t believe week 1 is nearly in the bag

I have a nice quiet country lane to run down, I’ve just done W1r2 at the same time you were out, for all the same reasons, feel very self conscious. Unfortunately, I didn’t realise that I would meet a large running club coming the other way. Thankfully that was during one of the walking sessions. What do you mean by JSR? Is that the jogging slow run?

It’s something someone posted about in here. It’s Japanese slow running. I wish I could remember who posted it, disco someone lol

That’s the one, I’m terrible with names. Thanks

You're welcome. It's a great technique and really helped me get underway. I start Week 6 tomorrow and don't know what I would have done without it.

She'll be lurking about here somewhere soon and will pass it on!!

Hi! It’s this 🎉

I love this way of running and came to it in W6, wished I’d seen it earlier. I started c25k nearly 6 months ago - I was so unfit, and now following this technique I can run for an hour. I am still utterly staggered that I can write that sentence!!! So stick at it - it’s an incredible journey x

Yes, I’ve seen that one, it was Hatman that recommended it following my first post on Sunday. I was quite amused that it was what I seemed to do naturally and at least it stopped me feeling guilty that I should be moving faster. Now I just need to sort out the delayed muscle pain that kicked in today following my first run on Sunday

Daft question... are you stretching before and after?

jmd104 profile image
jmd104Graduate in reply toC25khair

Yes, did my stretches, but following an old injury I have decreased muscle mass in my legs particularly the left and some hyper mobility so I’m hoping it’s just because they’re not used to it.
