Wow that was way harder than I thought it would be and I don't really know why. As I have learned from others here on this awesome forum, there are good runs and there are bad runs and you don't always know what you are going to get until you get out there and run.
It was the same run as run 3 of week 6 and that went ok so perhaps I had set my own expectations a little too high. I certain drank plenty of water yesterday and today and the only difference really was that I ran after work rather than early in the morning which is when I have done almost all my previous ones. Maybe that was it? I know it was hotter than I had anticipated too so perhaps should have worn shorts rather than my long running trousery things.
I also didn't quite finish it but am not allowing myself to call it a fail. When Jo came on to tell me i had 5 minutes left i let out the usual expletive because I haven't learnt my lesson and was expecting her to say 60 seconds left. I had to allow myself 2 x 30 seconds brisk walking sessions during that final 5 minutes.
The thing i need to work on for the next run is breathing. I was gasping for air most of the way through the run.
Still, onwards and upwards!

A couple of my recent runs were a warm parkrun, that was a tough 5k, and today I did 5 miles before any heat hit me... today’s run was by far the easiest despite being 1.6 times longer. So the temperature really does make a difference. Sounds like everything else was right for you, so I’d put it down to the heat and the run just being one of those tough ones. The good news is that a run that sucks is usually followed by a much smoother one. Slow down a little to get that breathing under control. Enjoy the next one.
What your doing is amazing, maybe it was the sun today .....I just finished week 5 run 2 . I feel sick at the thoughts of 20 minutes run next ...
I found W6/R3 REALLY hard, not sure how I got through that last 5 mins. Wouldn't surprise me if my legs throw in the towel at some point in week 7... Still, we're running 25 mins Moz! I was knackered running 1 min about a month ago. Whatever happens It won't wipe the smile off my face.
