Welcome. You can do this. Take it slow and steady in the runs, this is not about pace, it’s about building endurance with some nice conversational paced running. Enjoy your journey.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run and pacing.

Enjoy your journey.

Hello and welcome!

Everyone feels nervous before their first run - it's that feeling of the great unknown. It is the start of something new, so perfectly natural.

Take your time, make your run sections slow and then go even slower to ensure that you are running at a comfortable enough pace that you could have a conversation. If not, slow down. Keep your walk sections brisk enough to keep your aerobic levels up. It is fine if your run seems slower than your brisk walk, just as long as you are doing a running action!!

Do keep yourself well hydrated, even in the early weeks and especially later on. Stretching afterwards is an absolute must. Ian (the administrator/mentor of the forum) will send you a brilliant guide for C25K. It's a great reference point and contains a link to the stretching exercises.

This forum is a great place for advice and encouragement. Keep posting to let everyone know how you are getting on.

I began C25K a few weeks ago and am due to start Week 6 tomorrow. I am so glad that took the plunge. I feel great! Good luck with your journey!

Welcome ! Always remember the First Rule of C25k: The only run you fail is the run you don’t go for 😄
