The big 60!

I have just celebrated my 60th birthday and have decided that it’s now or never if I’m going to start on the road to fitness. I am 2 stone overweight and am hoping this programme will help me to lose some weight and increase my energy levels. I completed week one this week and surprised myself that I was able to do it. Fingers crossed that I can complete the course as I would love to be able to complete a park run with my husband who is a keen runner. Wish me luck 😄

Good luck! Getting started is the hardest part, I think so you're already over that hurdle. Just put your trust in the programme, take it slow and steady and don't be tempted to skip the rest days. Loads of great advice on here and everyone will be rooting for you!

Erin11 - welcome to the C25K and 60 clubs. I just turned 60, 3.5 stone overweight so pretty close to you. Next run is week 8 run3 after 10 weeks so I know you can do it too. I hated running big time but now enjoy popping out for a jog. I changed my diet, no biccies, crisps etc and having more fruit & veg. Lost over 2 stone in that time too so a bit more to go. Reckon that will be the hardest but bring it on. Read the guidelines and go at your pace, mine is snail pace but now picking up. Good luck, this forum is fantastic with some great support.
