At last

After 2 unsuccessful attempts completed W1 run 2 today. Am thinking about making this an 18 week training programme due to the excess weight on the old knees. Hopefully weight loss and an increase in fitness will help. Is this a good idea? Or should I push on?

I’m going to see how it goes but probably will redo weeks if I’ve struggled too much. The impression I get on here is that it’s not uncommon for people to redo weeks and runs when needed

Do what's right for you I took 17 weeks to complete c25k because I repeated a few runs but I don't care it worked for me as it will you good luck 😊😊

Hi thanks for the reply. I think your right. As long as I carry on the time doesn't matter.

Take as long as you need to. This is your program and pushing yourself too hard can lead to injury. If you complete a run, move onto the next one next time. If you don’t, then simply repeat it until you do.

Check in here, the support is amazing to celebrate your successes and boost your lows. Drink lots of water every day, remember your stretches and never skip a rest day.

Good luck 🍀

It’s a great idea and you can always stop repeating weeks if you feel up to it. I really want to congratulate you on making this decision. My tips (I bang on about this all the time - sorry not sorry!) but your brisk walk can be faster than your run. This was a big breakthrough for me - I was getting so puffed out until I figured that out. And then I saw this - m.youtube.com/watch?v=9L2b2... It’s a low impact running technique and I run this way all the time. You get all the benefits of running, but easier on knees, breathing etc. So see if that helps. And we’ll done you! This is an incredible journey and just take it nice and slow and you’ll get there!
