5km achieved at last

week 7 run 1 in 27'12" including warmup.

It's a shock to realise how slowly I run now compared to say 10 years ago before kids when I was 2 stones lighter and much fitter.

It's a hard road back to fitness.

So far I've been impressed with the app and the coaching program as it has avoided injuries.

No weight loss yet but that's probably down to my diet and the fact that I'm not allowed to run for more than 30 minutes.

Starting to look for a 1/2 marathon program so I can push myself further.

Well done ! You do realise that most of us won’t be near 5k even at graduation and we’re all trying really hard not to hate you, don’t you ?!! 😂

If I can do it then anyone can. The hardest part is near the beginning at around weeks 3/4 when the body is struggling to adapt. I had shooting pains in my thigh due to weight but struggled on.

Good shoes and running on grass are a big help.

Dug out my old heart monitor and joined Strava to see track progress.

Not denying that anyone can do it, but very few people can achieve the distance so quickly. I’m guessing you’re fairly tall !

Sadly I'm only 5'8" and my 10 year old daughter Tilly is catching up quickly. I can only just outrun her too.

Just put my glasses on. I thought you said you were 58! Glad we are the same height but alas my daughter is 30 years older 😂

You’re both the same height as my husband, but I, alas, am only 4’ 10”, so it takes me more steps to cover the same distance. 🙄

Not what you're looking for?
