I've been lurking around since I started but this is my first post. I had a bad bout of depression at the end of last year and as I recently started to feel better with the medication I started C25K. It has helped my recovery immensely and I found my self in a running shop this week paying a chunky sum for a good pair of trainers! I have never run before - I thought I just couldn't run. I've been on a treadmill so far but did week 8 run 2 outside and it was amazing. If you have any doubts just try it- follow the programme - do what you're told and if you struggle slow down. I'm a 52 year old overweight woman who couldn't run for a bus. Just give it a go you won't regret it!
This works! : I've been lurking around since I... - Couch to 5K
This works!
Excellent! Same age and just about to start week 9 tomorrow or day after ( nursing niggling foot ache). Always hated running but loved walking but somehow I now seem to love both !
It's great that you're on the road to recovery. Good luck with the rest of the programme and welcome outside, its lovely out here now that spring has arrived
Hi , I’m a bit of a lurker too ! I’m glad to hear you’re feeling a lot better than before. Isn’t it amazing what running can do for us!
I’ve just finished week 8, phew 😅 it was hot even at 9am ! I’m feeling Achilles pain and low leg pain so I’m going to rest over the weekend and see how I go. Good luck on your graduation!
What a great post! Thank you for sharing 💕
Running outdoors is fantastic and really lifts me out of the doldrums.
It was lovely to read your post. I’m a few weeks behind you and my goal is to do 5k by 50, which is my big birthday later this year.
Enjoy the next few runs as you head towards your graduation. Keep posting. It’ll be good to hear how you get on 😊🏃♀️.
Lovely post - really happy for you.
so glad you've found the running has helped x
Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and may have useful tips even at this stage.
Keep running, keep smiling.
Wow, that’s brilliant, well done!
