Week 3 complete

Hi I'm new here and I've just complete week 3. I know it's an achievement but I really struggle to motivate myself to do it! I'm 48 in May and really want to loose my weight and get fit, I just hope it gets easier.

The programme might look daunting but try and trust in it and if you need to repeat a run it's no big deal, you're still out exercising. Also, try to make it work for you, that way you'll be less likely to give up. With work commitments, weather, and all the other things in my life I've settled into 2 runs a week and that really works for me. Good luck

Thank you I almost gave up this week, for no reason less than I'm lazy! I always feel better after I have been out, despite it being tough when I'm doing it which is why I don't know why I really need to force myself to go

You’ve done really well to get to Wk3!

I also struggle to motivate myself some days. However I have found coming on here for a chat soon sorts me out as people on here boost you along brilliantly.

I just started Wk4 this morning, but I was not in the mood at all when I woke up. However I got my act together and got out. I started to run and went from “Meh” to “Woohoo” in 30 minutes!

Setting yourself a goal might help. I have a big birthday coming up this year, so I have set myself to do “5k by 50”. Fingers crossed 🤞.

Keep posting on here. You will get lots of support and encouragement. You can do this!

Hi Shar71! Have you done exercise before? I’m 54 and 3st overweight (although have lost 11lbs in 4 wks) and have never run in my life. Have you read “Running Made Easy”? that helped with my motivation. Also, I think along the lines of what I’ve been doing for the past XX years hasn’t worked for me, so I need to try (& stick to) something else. Of course no-one can get results without putting the work in, and only you can decide if now is the right time. Good luck 👍🏼

No I've not seen that will have a look at it though, and no I haven't really done exercise before. 11lb in 4 weeks that's amazing we'll done!
