Yes you can! I started the C25K when I was 59 and a couple of stone over weight. I think I had about 4 tries getting to different weeks each time. Illness and injury interrupted progress. I finally did it and it was such a great feeling. I was pottering along when I had a car accident. That stopped everything. I eventually started again ...and was doing reasonably well. Then I broke a bone in my foot( not related to running) so was out for about 18 months. Actually the consultant said I probably wouldn’t be able to run again..( the old joke comes to mind)..Anyway I started again in January( after a few false starts) and am now on week 6... Injury illness getting in the way. So I’ll repeat you can do it. It is worth it...there is no time limit...there is no need to think you have to do 5 k....go as slowly as you like while still jogging...I call what I do a joggette.. Once you get to the point where you can jog for 30 minutes you can then if you want, think about distance and speed...or just keep doing what you are doing...sorry this is long but I hope to encourage you to keep going..xx ..should add I’m now 63 and still overweight lol...

Thank you so much for your encouragement. I’m 61, never been a runner - or at all athletic in any way - and am also a couple of stone overweight. But I’ve begun! That’s the good thing. Onwards and upwards
