Does anyone else find the app turning off half way through run, so you lose all your data? This has happened quite a lot so repeated some runs a few times. It is so annoying - is it the app or my phone!

The app does have the odd issue... no matter, you completed the run... if it’s failed, get home, get all comfy with a nice cuppa, or glass of something and just start the run on the app... either listen to what you just did and grin... or hit ⏩ a few times and it’s done.

Thanks for that I didn't know you could move it on! I do feel better for getting it done and seeing the actual evidence where I can say - yeah I did that!

How do you do this. The route recorded but its still stuck on workout 2.

Hit the run up and just skip through it.

I had to run with my phone in my hand to constantly check it on weeks 1 to 6 or I wouldn't know when to stop and start because it would cut out. On week 7 I stopped using the app and just used Strava and the timer and then once I got home skipped through the run on the app to say it'd been done.

Thanks - I have been holding it too but I'm forever checking it hasn't gone off - glad it's not just happening to me.

I'm about to start week 9 and have had the phone in my hand whole way through otherwise it turns off, I know very annoying

Yes I've had exactly the same issue. Very frustrating. X

Yes I find if I lock my phone it does that. I downloaded an app called Tabata timer as a back up and change it every week. I can't wait for the weeks that you don't have breaks so your not having to rely on it... But petrified of having no breaks too lol, good luck x

No breaks.... How will I cope!

Apparently all the weeks up to it will have us ready... Gulp

It's not half as bad as you expect, the course is quite clever, the fitness creeps up on you

It's most likely to be your phone as it's designed to go to sleep if nothing is happening to save battery life and depending on the phone that might also mean stopping apps that are running. In your settings menu you can change the sleep time but normally only to a maximum of 10 minutes and with some phones you can tell it to stay awake if certain apps are running. I have a Huawei and their built in wrapper on top of the Android system seem to have annoyingly got rid of this feature but it still plays the apps so I get music and can hear the talking bits but I just can't see the countdown clock if my phone goes to sleep.

What phone are you using ?

On my Huawei I can go into the app settings and change it so this app runs in the background. It seems to stay in the whole time now, but I do still check from time to time in case it's made its own decisions!

Yes that's how I got around it as well but I would much prefer to set the phone so that it doesn't go to sleep as the screen pulls very little power these days and the P20 Pro has an amazing battery life anyway.

Yes Huawei P20 that's good to know all these things I will recheck my settings thanks😀

I had to change the settings to allow it to run in the background. I still check it each time as just occasionally it changes itself!

I’m no expert with all this techno stuff. I just download the podcast, playable on iPod , phone etc. Instructions from Laura, music is bit crash crash, but each instruction is clear. Run now, walk now. Don’t feel that I am missing out by not knowing how far I ran, my altitude, temperature or heart rate at any given moment. Does mean that I concentrate on one foot in front of the other and smelling the flowers. Enjoy the process. Good luck

Week two will seem easier. You did the difficult bit. You decided to start the process. I messed about with a new phone and which app shall I use? Etc. In my week one. Ended up doing week one twice, just to eventually get my tech stuff right. I’m 74, just starting Week 5. Surprised to find that I am enjoying it.

Mine did this a few times when I first started, think for me it was old phone with very little memory. Cleared some memory by moving music onto sd card and touch wood I've been okay.

I repeated each time too until I realised last week you can fast forward the chat... found this out after forgetting to save a run one day!

Good luck!

I didn't know about fast forward either but thank goodness I do now! New phone so it can't be that just when screen goes off app turns off

Run 2 for me today. No problems with first run but today the app kept closing. I'd be running or walking but getting no instruction. Fast forwarding feels like cheating because I had to guess where I'd got to. Very frustrating. Wasn't good at all today.

It is frustrating but if your doing a great job! I did my run 2 today too started all over again from Week1🙄

Here we go again!

Yes its happened to me. I overcompensate by runni g more than i think i should. Then when app is next open fastforward it and record it as finished.
